I had an idea for a series of threads (one for each DC character) to which members could post every known incarnation of the character as a figure/toy.

This could provide a good resource for folks seeking information or photos of the various figures available on the market.

I am only going to start with one thread (Mr. Freeze) for the time being pending moderator comment as to whether they want hundreds of threads like this one flooding the toy discussion forum. I personally think it would be helpful but don't want to annoy my fellow Toyark members with a flood of posts if this is a bad idea.

2003 Batman Series S3 (Select Sculpt Series) "Mr. Freeze with Ice Cannon"

The figure came in two variants, with and without goggles.

The head and waist are connected with a reverse-swivel action. As his Pelvis turns clockwise, the head turns counter-clockwise and vice versa.

The clear domed helmet is not removable.

2006-2008 DC Superheroes Series S3 (Select Sculpt Series) "Mr. Freeze"

The 2003 mold was reused to create both the 2006 standard release (some call this one "tank top Mr. Freeze" due to his bare abs) and the 2008 New York Comic Con NYCC exclusive version with the metallic blue paint apps.

2011 Batman Legacy "Super Powers Mr. Freeze"

Mattel got a whole lot of mileage out of the original S3 mold with this release becoming the fifth variant of the same mold. The figure features the color scheme used on the Super Powers Collection Mr. Freeze figure from the popular mid-1980's toyline.

As with most DC Direct figures, this figure is intended for adult collectors and has limited poseability.

2010 Fisher-Price DC Super Friends Imaginext "Mr. Freeze"

This figure is approx. 3.75" in height and this line too is geared toward younger children (obviously) as you can see from the sculpting and limited articulation.

1992 Kenner Batman the Animated Series "Mr. Freeze w/ Firing 'Ice' Blaster"

This figure was released shortly after the enormously popular original "animated" Batman cartoon series.

I was going to Say the Legacy Version is a Repaint/Rerelease of DCSH but I think thats the norm with Batman Legacy Line. Batgirl is a Rerelease. actually its seems to be Normal across both lines DCUC and DCSH.

1986 Kenner Super Powers Collection "Mr. Freeze" & DC Comics Super Heroes "Mr. Freeze"

This is perhaps the (awful?) figure from the action figure collection that started it all for many enthusiasts.

SPC Freeze had a purple helmet, while CSH Freeze had a clear helmet and a paint app that changed color in cold water.

1997 Batman & Robin Movie Mr. Freeze (Various)

Let's see, we have:
  • Batman* & Robin Mr. Freeze
  • Batman & Robin Jet Wing Mr. Freeze
  • Batman & Robin Ultimate Armor Mr. Freeze
  • Batman & Robin Bazooka Mr. Freeze
  • Batman & Robin A Cold Night in Gotham City 2-Pack Chrome Mr. Freeze
  • Batman & Robin Iceblast Freeze
I think we can all agree that the merchandising may have gotten out of control with this (awful?) movie adaptation. I have never owned any of these figures, so don't know the details, but if you haven't seen it already do yourself a favor and check out the YouTube clip of Mr. Freeze's awful puns from the Batman and Robin movie. Painful.

Yeah, it is frustrating that he has essentially one pose where he is aiming his gun across his body.

I haven't been a huge fan of the various Arkham series figures so far. The giant crazy awesome Bane figure was cool but a bit too much of a caricature IMO, but I think the only one I really want so far is the killer Killer Croc they showed at 2011 NYCC. I haven't yet seen Mr. Freeze in the Arkham City game as I am waiting out until I can rent it.

2004 Mattel The Batman Mr. Freeze & Mattel The Batman Shadow Tek Mr. Freeze

This Mr. Freeze has a neat ice-formed domed helmet. I believe they are identical molds.

1998 Kenner The New Batman Adventures Mission Masters "Insect-Body Mr. Freeze"

This was neat take, featuring a removable animated frozen Mr. Freeze head that could be installed on either a robotic humanoid body or robotic four-legged insect platform.

Weird, but a cool take on the Mr. Freeze character.

Does this really need a separate post for each entry, though? Wouldn't it be more logical to format it into a few longer posts?
