Given DST's horrible track record with killing figure lines after just 1 or 2 waves due to weak sales and never finishing the main cast of characters from a show or movie, I wonder how likely it is we'll get more LOTR figures beyond this first batch. I'd love for them to at least do the full Fellowship, but I don't trust DST after their history of short lived figure lines. They are too quick to cancel a line if it doesn't meet their ambitiously high expectations for sales. McFarlane is just as bad when it comes to lines he quickly killed off like Game of Thrones, Star Trek, and apparently Harry Potter.

Well you gave a great answer in your first sentence. Weak sales. You can’t make more of something if it doesn’t sell. Diamond went deep with ghostbusters and NBX seems to be going strong. There is quite a bit of buzz around lord of the rings from them, no one else is making action figures and it seems collectors are hungry for this line. With no competition and great build a figures, this line looks good for the long run.

With respect to mcfarlane, they jumped in to game of thrones late and most fans seem to have hated the ending so that kills the sales right there, if no one buys, you can’t make more. Star Trek just didn’t get enough traction, with toysrus gone in the us and major retailers not wanting to carry it that again writes itself. Harry Potter is still going and per toyfair interviews with Todd there are more coming.

They Said U would have to buy 4 figures to build Sauron. And probably a 5th to also get Saurons Mace (maybe also a sword?) And some extra hands. I personally am interested in how much these sets are gonna cost. There were little side notes with all these figures and those notes said every set costs around $184.49 but I hope that won't be the actual price lol
