I'm surprised there's no action figures announced

BagJo 02-23-2020 05:13 PM

I saw a picture of 2 LOTR figures on Instagram earlier today and they looked great

Comedian 02-23-2020 05:30 PM

Holy freaking crap! Lord of the rings figures! Please let them go deep, and please include the hobbit. Bridge direct screwed us over big with that. Honestly, this may be the most excited I’ve been at toy fair since dc direct announced the Batman the animated series.

I also love that we are getting mr.claws finally!

Man, any other news on the lord of the rings is greatly welcomed!

Thanks to you guys taking these photos, you really made my year!

VashTS 02-23-2020 05:34 PM

How tall is that Iron Giant figure?

Shadowknight1 02-23-2020 06:14 PM

Toph's face looks a bit weird. They captured maniac Azula's face perfectly though.

Chopper Face 02-23-2020 07:26 PM

Legolas, Gimli and the Moria orc appear to all have full on action figure joints but then Aragorn and Frodo hardly have any. The paper by Aragorn also says ‘series 2 assortment’ so we’re looking at two waves of figures here at least.

Legolas should also have his Lothlorien bow if he’s wearing the Elven cloak so I hope that’s included. It most likely will be given the amount of options that come with the orc. All the extra heads of weapons is a great way to incentivise collectors to buy multiples. Really hope we get the same for the Uruk Hai. Those guys are my favourite. Can’t wait for Lurtz!

En Sabah Nerd 02-23-2020 07:36 PM

Well I'm definitely on board for Sauron.

Nutimus Prime 02-23-2020 07:52 PM

The Lord of the Rings, in all forms, is one of my favorite things in the world. So this line is very exciting to me.

I just hope Diamond can put out a decent number of figures regularly. Now I'm imagining a full shelf of the Fellowship lined up.

hotheads 02-23-2020 08:17 PM

those lotr figures look amazing. if the final product paint comes out half as clean as these prototypes i'm all in.

snake5289 02-23-2020 08:23 PM

I was hoping to see a figure of Hector or S3 Trevor (probably too soon for that though) but that Dracula looks great.

The lack of articulation is probably just that they're not as further along as the ones that have it, and they don't have the articulation cut into the sculpt yet. Similar situation can be seen with the DC Direct Batman Animated-style Talon and Thomas Wayne Batman.

Very impressed with the ATLA offerings, though I don't love that each wave has an Aang. We just need Suki, S1 Zuko, Zhao and Iroh to finish off the really must-have characters, plus Mai and Ty Lee. I still hope we could see an in-scale Appa figure.
I wonder how deep they might go beyond that, it would be fantastic to get Fire Nation and Dai Lee army builders, and Jet and his Freedom Fighters. The other Avatars would be great too. So much potential for this line.

The LOTR line looks surprisingly great too

User897 02-23-2020 08:55 PM

No Star Trek. Go die.

ronriii 02-23-2020 09:33 PM

It's both amazing and sad that out of all their ATLA offerings, it's Ozai and Azula that ended up looking the best by far. Maybe it helps that they actually have emotion in their expressions unlike the neutral expressions of the main cast. Their new Aang with the happier expression looks a little more promising even if the prototype is a little rough on the edges.

rc9000000 02-23-2020 09:59 PM

So i'm not expecting much Sonic the Hedgehog wise especially with Jakks having the master toy licence but i do enjoy that sonic movie statue i just wish it was the final design for the sneakers

lyasangi 02-24-2020 03:56 AM

Actual DST figures look like crap in reality most of the time, don't pre-order anything from them

mort 02-24-2020 05:37 AM

Whoa! An Avatar State Aang and an Ozai! Just need a Kyoshi and Kuruk to fill my wishlist at this point.

An Azog figure-done at this level-would be amazing.

mort 02-24-2020 07:24 AM

I really like that Sauron also. Would like a Gandalf the Grey or Saruman to go with it too.

ddarko 02-24-2020 10:59 AM

They actually spelled “Kitana” as “Katana” on the name cards lol

ShabbyBlue 02-24-2020 05:36 PM

No new Tron figures shown, so I guess we can assume it's another "one and done" wave like Pulp Fiction and X-Files and we'll never get the rest of the main cast. :(

Cyborg Pangolin 02-24-2020 05:52 PM

I wish a company like Amazing Yamaguci, SH Figuarts, or Figma can get the licensing. These figures are good, but they aren't the best articulated. The original Aang is a prime example, plus I'd like more switch out heads, hands, and effects. Don't get me wrong though, I'm gonna buy every one of these!

mort 02-25-2020 07:43 PM

The more I look at those Avatar figures, the more I come back down to Earth and my excitement is tempered. Awful articulation and lazy accessories.

protostar8 02-26-2020 10:24 AM

Liking what I see overall but I hope they do a little work on Toph's face prior to release.
