Yeah, but I feel like there's no way to make them opaque that looks as good and takes as little work/budget/effort as just making them transparent.

The saber blur effect is cool, but after waiting so long for a Dooku, I'm pretty upset that Hasbro is dipping into a cheaping out period and not giving him proper knees. Those look awful.

Considering how Hasbro talked about doing the single knees for the Knight of Ren they revealed at the British or French con, I think it's more about aesthetics than cost/cheapness. I do wish they weren't doing this change to the knee articulation, but at least it's not cuz they're cheaping out or anything.
