OK so I don't have a photo of the toy, but I'm hoping someone can help.

My sister has had this plush toy since her first Christmas (1985) and my mom and I are trying to find one that is more preserved for her to have.

It is a plush toy. About 12" - 18" tall. It is a grey rabbit with floppy ears. The inside bit of the ears were pink. The rabbit had clothes at one point, though I have no memory of them, my family members have only told me he did. I also had a matching (but orange) lion and I remember him having a hat, so perhaps the rabbit had the same? The most distinctive and important feature, though, were that the eyes spun. Not just "closed" when you laid the toy back, but spun around completely. The eyes were inset into its head, so not sitting on top of it or anything like that. My mother doesn't remember where she bought the toys, or what the brand or anything else was, though she said she thinks the name had something like "Googly eyes" in it.

He actually looked kind of like this:

His ears are a bit longer (they would cover his eyes)

I've searched all over: etsy, ebay, amazon, google shopping... Anyone have any ideas?

If it's very soft, my guess would be a Gund. Gund plush toy designs are very simple and clean, and they're very well made. Nothing is as soft and squishy as a Gund.

On the other hand, I don't think I've ever seen a Gund with googly eyes.

I would probably do exactly what you're doing: dig through online auction and second-hand sites with suitable keywords. Also enter the keywords at Google Images.

Anybody else got any ideas?

Good luck!

It's a vintage 1984 Dakin Mama Bunny Plush Toy which might have originally come with a Baby Bunny.
