I'm STILL reading civil war. There's too much crap involved. I've skipped some of the hogwash to get to more interesting issues.

I remember getting Punisher, Moon Knight, and Ms. Marvel somewhere around May 09, which was the first time the figures made it into my area. I ended up getting around 10 or so of the first few waves, before abandoning all toy collecting to focus on CGC Signature Series. I had fun with that for about two years, but since the changes to that program, I gave them up and returned to toys around June of last year. Since then, I have picked up a little more than 60 figures, including multipacks.

I could be wrong, but it seems to have started to really grow into a whole 'Marvel Universe' with House of M. That reached into practically every title. While it had a MAJOR impact with mutants and the X-Men, which has lead to basically every major storyline since, from there it splintered into WW Hulk, the Illuminati, Civil War, Dark Reign, and the Avengers taking over as the flagship Marvel title. Of course this is just my opinion.

Before this, it was just regular summer crossover events, and the X-Men had theirs, Avengers theirs, etc. I certainly don't work for Marvel, so I can't say they had a long term plan, but it seems to be coinciding with the movies pretty well. For DC, a lot of things work independently, especially the movies. Marvel has made a really big push in the last 5 or so years to make everything inter-related. I love it, but I don't have deep enough pockets and time to support my OCD.

I believe you're right, House of M was the one that may have kicked it off slightly, it didn't cross over into every book though, mostly the X-titles, Avengers and maybe Spider-Man. But for Civil War crossed over into almost all the books.

Certainly seems that way, but far from it. I don't think any original FF member has made it, maybe honorable member. Only 2, and perhaps a 3rd X-Man, Wolverine and Beast (and if you count Quicksilver as an X-Man). I don't think Prof. X as a member of the Illuminati would count. Angel and Iceman were Defenders. A couple of New Warriors and Thunderbolts.

When the Avengers began, it was similar to the Justice League, they just incorporated their lesser known, 2nd, 3rd and 4th rate heroes into a team. Now, it is the major players. And with Dark Avengers, more villans are now 'Avengers', blurring the line. And before I get flack, JL had Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Hawkman...likewise, Cap., Iron Man, Hulk.

But I do agree, a lot of characters that have been released have at one time been Avengers. But a 3rd, if that. Probably a quarter, re-releases really obscure that. Sorry I get long-winded.

True, I just think that House of M was the catylst (sp?) that started to make all the titles exist together. Certainly it was more of an X-title, and there were more storyline's involved. But to me, it seems with House of M, it showed that there was a much bigger 'universe' involved, and what effected one book, affected the others (or is that the other way around).

Anyways, as an X-Men fan, I am glad all the Marvel titles are interesting again. Love it or hate it, it beats a lot of the duldrum of the 90's and early 00's (again, my opinion).

As far as they reach into obscurity with heroes, they should do the same for villians. One or 2, if you are lucky, per wave. I would love to see some Mauraders, MLF, Acolytes, Horsemen, FOH, Bastion (yes I'm an X-Men fan), MU Scorpion, Lizard, Doc Ock, Rhino, Thombstone...Kingpin!!! <Sigh>.

Sadly, with heroes turned villans, and villans turned heroes, who knows anymore....

Hit me up if you ever want to score a set of the Imaginext Batman figures, I ended up with some unopened sets a while back and can cut you a good deal.

We need the Beetle, Boomerang, Cobra, Moonstone, Batroc, Scorpio, Gorgon, Tiger Shark, Titiania, Molecule Man....

Ustomizer Stephanie from Figurerealm is making the Marauders team right now- as a kid, one of my first X-Men comics was 210- the epic throwdown in the Morlock tunnels where Peter kills Riptide...

I'm old, or mid-school. The Mutant Massacre is one of my all time favorite storylines. I started just after that, so my inital back issues were the MM, and I fell in love. Wolverine, 1st apperance of Psylocke (unless I'm mistaken), Sabertooth becoming a major player and Wolverine backstory component, and the actual deaths of comic characters. Getting to see just how 'real' this mutant struggle is (and I live(d) in the 'hood', so there is a certain sense of relavence, with the heavy emphasis of minorites with Claremont's run).

To me, this storyline jumpstarted the X-Men into a more 'relevent' Terminator/Rambo 80's style edge...which isn't too bad. Then you have the Mr. Sinister/Gambit/Dark Beast ret-con which ties it all in to the 90's and 00's.

My friend got a call from another friend reporting TRU got in the little Marvel figures. I then called TRU and told them to hold me the last Black Panther. Went up and got him an hour later.

A few days later Wal-Mart got them in and I got Spidey, Cap, both Hulks, Ronin, Surfer and Iron Fist. They had 5-6 of the entire wave 1 and 2.

Hi all,

I went to a TRU and saw MU Capt America and picked it up. I liked the details of the figure as well as the packaging. I am a MOC american cardback collector because I also like the short bio on the back of the card. In Canada it is just blank and we recieve our waves much later than you guys or we don't get them at all. I have every single figure except missing maybe 10 variants.

I got my start back when they first premiered at toyfair and was hooked.

That march when they first hit shelves. I bought the first full wave. The rest is history, been buying ever since but skipping characters I don't want.
