Stopped at TRU today to pick up a box of diapers for the little one, and winded up taking another one of these home. Sheesh Pacific Rim...with all the trouble you've brought me in the past, why can't I just quit you.
I know...shame on me right? ![]() In all seriousness, this was the first Jaeger since Alpha Chernov where I had absolutely NO QC issues straight out of the package. Just a slight hair dryer treatment to his left arm (out of paranoia), and he was ready to go! He also had the tightest joints out of ANY of the prior Jaegers that I've picked up (and I have them all thus far...) and some of the best articulation yet in the line. While I still don't trust him to survive a dive off of my shelf, and I really hate the way his jointed elbows are assembled, I must say, this is one of the best NECA has put out yet! |

While I still don't trust him to survive a dive off of my shelf, and I really hate the way his jointed elbows are assembled, I must say, this is one of the best NECA has put out yet! It seems more rotten luck many haven't been able to enjoy the line than it is the line being overall bad. Cherno Alpha is the best I have so far, don't have Romeo Blue and passed on the newest GD, and she was also perfect for me right out of the packaging. There is that weird thing where her hips aren't level, but she stands perfectly fine anyway. Coyote Tango loves to dive so I had to rearrange the hips, and like I said Tacit Ronin is one of my visually favorite jaeger figures, but is probably the weakest of the bunch. Tacit has a really weird anatomy to it, the legs have double knees but the lower joints are stuck even when I use the hair dryer trick. Combining that with the mostly useless hip joints as well as awkward feet and Tacit Ronin has a very hard time standing without a base. The arms are decent on mine at least, so I can get it into a nice blades out and turning body pose. Overall the Kaiju have been the much better half of this toyline, if only because they're big enough to have more durability. I am eager for Horizon Brave, but it is still a cautious optimism. On the other side, I have little concern Otachi will have any troubles when she comes out.

We could all use getting some happy trees going...
Got some key acquisitions over the weekend...Horos and Thotos (not the Timekeepers - I got all three of them for $19 a year ago)...All that's left for me is Anubos, but these last two cost me a pretty penny and Anubos will cost me considerably more ![]() ![]() Grumblings about cost aside, I'm doing back-flips over here at finally getting my hands on these!! |

I always wanted some of those Gothatropolis figures from the 4H, but I missed the boat and now they are a fortune , IF you can find them online.

"IF" is spot on, Crow. I've been searching for a year plus, and only just recently did I hit pay-dirt...it cost me too. Anubos will be it for me. These things are swiftly approaching the "am I crazy?" threshold...BTW, I know full well that I'm insane! lol

"Am I crazy?" is definitely the way to describe those prices. I missed the boat like Crow and I just cannot justify the prices. They were not exactly cheap directly from 4H let alone on the secondary market. I wish I could have gotten in on the Raven line they ran the Kickstarter for awhile back. Those figures were amazing!

In spite of all of that, I'm very happy at my score! ![]() Addendum: I just checked Dragon Man and he is going for a price roughly the same (DM is a little cheaper) as Anubos. My original comment about buying both DM and FFF is a bit hyperbolic, but not too far off from reality for experienced eBay snipers. Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 02-09-2015 at 06:41 PM.. |

Although the new Avengers wave of Marvel Legends mostly doesn't really appeal to me, Scarlet Witch was a hard maybe. I hadn't planned on going out of my way to find her, but while out hunting today, I spotted a couple. She looks so good, and is such a vast improvement over the Toy Biz version, that I'm excited that I was lucky enough to spot one so soon.
![]() Both Captain Marvels I saw had derpy eyes, but I got lucky in that the paint on both the Scarlet Witches I saw looked good.

South central, Schertz/Cibolo area. It is a barren place to be a collector, I usually have to go to New Braunfels to actually find anything. Whenever I do actually find something locally it's pretty exciting for me, and then I'll get to wait another three or more months for anything else to show up. For those reasons I'm primarily an internet shopper for collectibles. Although my TRU has been stepping up a lot recently to keep with the adult collectibles, especially NECA stuff.

I happened to get my income taxes back and went to Target on a whim and found the rest of the new avengers wave and the other 2 combiners I needed, then came home and found that silverbolt is 24.99 on amazon prime. Now, I just have to wait until the marvel universe dudes pop up on HTS and I should hopefully be set.

I don't even want to get into what I paid for them; Horos, Thotos and Anubos are some of the more rare Scarabus characters. If I want something badly enough, I'll justify/rationalize the purchase. That said, Anubos is just too outrageous right now. For the price of what I've seen Anubos go for recently (I was one of the collectors that ran up the price of an auction roughly a week ago, ultimately getting priced out), I could buy both Fin Fang Foom and Dragon Man from the ML series...and have change left over.
In spite of all of that, I'm very happy at my score! ![]() Addendum: I just checked Dragon Man and he is going for a price roughly the same (DM is a little cheaper) as Anubos. I know how hard those are to find. |

![]() Got Select Venom and the concept Ben Franklin Motorized Patriot today. The Franklin MP is just a straight repaint of the George Washington MP but without the epaulettes. I feel like the paint apps themselves are nicer on the Franklin MP, but overall the Washington MP is still how they looked in game so it edges out still being better. The Washington MP also came with clear clips to assist in managing the flags, but the Franklin MP didn't so I had to use some of the clear twist ties that held it in package for that.

Got these for my nephew's upcoming bday. I have to admit though, they are pretty sweet. I'm kinda hoping he opens them at the party so I can play along with him, lol
