Ha! You know what man, I've been wanting to have everyones opinions on one thread instead of being all over the MU appreciation thread. I figured it'd also help newer collectors figure out what are the solid figures to collect from each toy line and at the same time figure out what's on everyones mind for each of these toy lines.
No good in your book buddy?

im going to reserve most of my judgement for best on whether or not Beta Ray Bill will take the cake. He just looks so awesome. Well him and beast. I took another look at the SDCC photos, just to give myself a fresh look at whats coming out. I know it still gets me about the reused bodies and all, but Sinister is a complete recolor of colossus, hip boots and everything. The two packs next year are going to be a tough buy for me because im going to be buying only 1 out 2 that are new for me. But ill save more of that for a more appropriate thread.

anyways, since i dont have mandarin, Iron Monger is easily one of the best of the IM2 comics series. I still have problems with the armor wars armor with those flaps on the shoulders.

Marvel Universe

Best that probably doesn't count variant Sentinel. Absolutely spectacular figure. Love the headsculpt, colors, and everything. At this point I think I like it better than the ML version
Best Juggernaut. Very clean, functional build. It doesn't have the crazy sculpting that WW Hulk does or the articulation of Doc Strange but he's an all-around solid figure with few flaws.
Runner Ups
WW Hulk - Easily the second best in the line. Very solid sculpting, great articulation. Prone to paint defects, though, (not to mention the unpainted areas) and the fact he can't hold his weapons well is lame.
Doctor Strange - Really spectacular articulation and paint. The only weak point is that kind of silly expression on his face and the fact that he's doing the Rock's raised eyebrow thing
Thanos - Was really tempted to list this as the best instead of Juggernaut. They mostly share the same sculpt anyway, although the paint is a bit nicer on Thanos. Plus he comes with an alternate hand. How many MUs come with alternate bits?

Worst Jean Grey. She has no neck. Why does she have no neck?
Runner Ups SW 2pack Wolverine. Although I hate the stout-body in general, this use probably bugged me the most.

Overrated
Silver Samurai - Really hate his headsculpt. And he's got this strange thing where his feet only really seem to pivot to the side. However everybody seems to love the guy!

Iron Man 2

Best Comic Series War Machine. One of the nicest all-around figures that I've seen on this scale. The color and shadowing are excellent, plus the accessories are incredible.
Runner Ups Comic Series Iron Monger (blue). When I saw a review on this guy I thought he had to be a custom. I was surprised that Hasbro would actually make something this nice in the line.

Worst Pretty much any of the unmasked heads. I can't think of one where they didn't sin against nature.
Runner Ups Pretty much any Iron Man. Most were plagued by shoddy, visible paint errors. One of the more annoying ones was #26 (comic series modern?). He was the one I most wanted but the eyes were frequently off, the arms weren't placed right, he didn't seem to have forearm articulation, and ultimately he ended up being one of the few things I didn't buy.

Overrated Hulkbuster Iron Man. He gets so much street cred just for being what he is but, honestly, I just never saw any appeal here.

Spiderman

Best Rhino. Probably one of the nicest 3.75" figures out there. Even with the gimped articulation, he's still sculpted in a way that makes him look awesome posed. Only real drawback are those lame-ass huge balljoints at the hips (and, again, a lack of knee articulation)
Runner Ups Lizard. The only drawback might be the size. Otherwise he looks incredible.

Worst Pick a Spiderman, any variant Spiderman... The only thing they really did right was the super-poseable, the rest lacked articulation and most were lame gimmick costumes
Runner Ups first Venom. No knee articulation? Really? >_> Sure, the Doc Ock may have been ugly and a terrible design but at least you could stand him reasonably well.

Overrated Not sure if anything really qualifies. The line is massively overlooked, maybe even criminally overlooked. Although a lot of the figures are so-so, they're providing new sculpts for characters who even if they did appear in MU would just get the same ol' mold with minor tweaks. Otherwise Carnage; besides being rare, there was also that massive running production error where he had two of the same hands... a problem that afflicted the very few I actually did see in stores.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Best Brown & tan Wolverine. Honestly, this was the one big thing I wanted to see from the line. Solid sculpt, they did the colors right, only issue is the claws.
Runner Ups
Colossus
Sabretooth

Worst Cyclops. Ugly sculpt, only really good for the accessory
Runner Ups Movie Deadpool. It looks pretty horrendous.

Overrated Gambit. Honestly, it's sort of a lackluster design. The trenchcoat just looks silly.

MU:
Best - Dr. Strange: Got pretty much everything right with this figure.
Worst - Daredevil: Too stumpy. Odd hips. Missing abs.
Overrated - Cable: Really the figure is good, I just think Cable the character is overrated.

MU
Best: Juggernaut, Cable, Apocalypse, Dr. Doom
Worst: Kitty Pryde (never seen one with good paint apps), Multiple Man (just boring), Ghost Rider (should not be a skinny little spiderman like guy)
Underrated: Sunfire, Hand Ninja, Absorbing Man
Overrated: Falcon, Green/Grey Hulk (from single packs)

IM2
Best: Comic Whiplash, Iron Monger
Worst: Whiplash (awful paint apps, looks little like the movie character), Movie War Machine (never saw one that didn't have derpy eyes)
Underrated: Crimson Dynamo, Guadsman, Titanium Man (awesome scuplts that no one really cared about in my area)
Overrated: Movie Whiplash (everyone wanted one and he sucks)

Thor
Best: Hogun (awesome weapons and a great all around figure if you can find one with good paint apps)
Worst: Most of the random Thors with the same weapon and different decos
Underrated: King Odin (he's not bad, but I wouldn't go out to find the repaint and pay more)
Overrated: Destroyer (he's not a bad figure, and he looks cool, but everyone around here went nuts for him)

Spiderman
Best: Rhino, Scorpion, Lizard, and Venom
Worst: Doc Oc with silver tentacles (never seen one with decent paint apps, always look bad)
Underrated: Doc Oc with Orange Tentacles (REALLY good paint apps on every one I've found and you can just paint or silver permanant marker over the orange)
Overrated: Carnage (skinny little spiderman body with not much going for him)

Best: Dr. Strange, as a figure is almost perfect, just needs a couple of accesories to be the perfect 10
worst: Mary Jane, never bothered to pick that up
Underrated: Extremis Iron man, one of the first MU figures with the hinge on the neck, besides it looks awesome
Overrated: Blade, the worst MU body by far

For me.
Marvel Universe
Best:
Cable.
Acrchangel. Great fig.
Astonishing Wolverine. Best Wolvie so far IMO.
Thanos. He's Thanos.

Runner Ups:
Modern Thor. Overall good figure. Could use a little more articulation. Isn't too stable.
Apocalypse. The only reason he wasn't the best was lack of articulation because of his arm tubes.
Dr. Doom. Duh.

Worst:
Mary Jane. This may go without saying.
Tony Stark Iron Man. I've seen customs that were ten times better.

Runner Ups
Kitty Pryde. Still waiting to see one with good paint.

Overrated:
Norman Iron Patriot. It's a variant. So what.
Most other variants apply here, too.

Underrated:
X-23. Legs aren't too long to me.

Best- Hard to say, in terms of articulation, I'd say blood edge.
My favorites though.....

Scarlet Spider and ghost rider, two very VERY cool figures with only two minor issues (I fixed Ben's hips so that's not bad), John's ankles, which are impossible to move, likewise with Ben.

Underrated- I'd say gold Iron man, and extremis Iron man, both very solid figures with great articulation and sculpt(though extremis is far more sleek)

Worst- Anything with the DareDevil body or that wretched Punisher body, it's nice to see their fans will get a better figure come next series.

Over rated- Dead Pool, don't get me wrong, I was damned fond of this character ever since he came out, I even have the Bowen bust, and grabbed the Dead Pool ML figure when he first hit. I just feel he's lacking something in paint detail, and articulation. Almost a great figure, just needs some more tweaking is all.

I'd also like to add that while Carnage may not have great articulation, he makes up for it by being, well sculpted, and durable.

By the way, has any one noticed or made an Earth X DD with Ghost's body? It's a perfect fit for him, and the legs could even work with an earth x Moon Knight.

UPDATE

Marvel Universe
Best - Cable with Baby Hope, Commander Steve Rogers, Dr Strange.
Runner up - WW2 Hulk, Thor, Bleeding Edge Iron Man.

Worst - Weapon X Wolverine, Anything with that short stubby mold.
Runner up - Scarlet Spider. Although the mold and paint is awsome, way to much quality control issues.

Underrated - Sunfire, Modern Thor. Weird thing is, they get no love, it is odd.
Runner up - Bucky, Winter Soldier, Hawkeye/Dark Hawkeye

Overrated - Archangel, Darkhawk. Not saying these figures suck, because they don't, they are good, but are over-rated either way.
Runner up - Vision, god damn stupid stubby mold, some one give me the head and cape for crying out loud for I can make a new one!!

Captain America
Best - Bucky Cap, we all know why.
Runner up - Movie Cap.

Worst - Any of the heavy gimmick ones.
Runner up - See above.

Underrated - US Agent, no love for him
Runner up - WW2 Cap, its either over rated or under, to me, he isn't appreciated enough.

Overrated - Red Skull, however the variant has grown on me a lot.
Runner up - Hydra Soldiers. I would only ever get the variants.

Thor
Best - Destroyer, Warriors 3
Runner up - Frost Giants. I don't own any, but they look awsome.

Worst - All of the gimmick figures.
Runner up - see above

Underrated - Warriors 3, they are awsome figures, and get so much hate, or to much love
Runner up - Destroyer, sure it has a gimmick, but it isn't huge.

Overrated - Warriors Three, Just like I said above, to much hate or to much love, fits in both.
Runner up - Heimdall.

Iron Man 2
Best - Mandarin,
Runner up - Cyborg War Machine

Worst - Whiplash, I own both, but will be using ones whips for a future Omega Red
Runner up - Any of the deluxe Iron Men really.

Underrated - Iron Monger
Runner up - Blue Iron Monger, Titanium Man, Guardsman.

Overrated - Mandarin, although he is one of, if not the best IM2 figure, more detail into his rings and his robe costume would of been nicer, for me.
Runner up - Ultimate Iron Man, an easy pass unless you have to have an Ultimates team!

I'll make a complete list today.

One of my favorite MU figure has to be silver samurai. He's just cool. The detail that went into him is above most other figures. Even if he's not all original parts, the riveting along his suit isn't on anyone else.

agree with everybody: mary jane is the worse. Punisher isn't far off though.

Marvel Universe
Best - Apocalypse; It's Apocalypse, it's a nice use of existing parts, and the paint and detail are just well done.
Runner up - Silver Samurai; I'm EXTREMELY sure that the figure is unique in almost every way, shape, and form. Plus weapon storage, that's awesome.

Worst - Any Wolverine with the tallish Wolverine mold (i.e Wave 1 X-force Wolverine, etc.); The neck is so baaaaaaaad and the swivel wrists seem extremely weak.
Runner up - Anything with the old woman mold (i.e Mystique, etc.); it lacks articulation, why?

Underrated - Sunfire; nice choice of mold and it just looks plain awesome
Runner up - Hobgoblin; fits in the glider well, good paint, and just badass looking.

Overrated - Archangel; it's a basic mold with wings. Whoopee.
Runner up - Thanos; don't get me wrong it's an awesome figure, it's just not as great as everyone says

Captain America
Best - Bucky Cap; good articulation and just looks pretty.
Runner up - Red Skull; lacks articulation in the ankles but it makes up for it in awesomeness.

Worst - Arctic Cap; What's the point?
Runner up - I can't really think of any besides the other gimicky ones.

Underrated - Ultimate Cap; Good paint, nice modern look, just lacks wrist articulation is all.
Runner up - US Agent; I just don't know why this figure doesn't get that much love, it doesn't get hate, but it doesn't get love.

Overrated - Crossbones; he's cool looking and all, but it's not very awe inspiring to me.
Runner up - Captain Britain; once again, he's cool looking and all, but the scale is pretty bad. He makes a fine Ultimate Captain Britain though.

Thor
Best - Volstagg; love the beard.
Runner up - Destroyer; lacks torso articulation but it just looks so damn good.

Worst - Any gimmicky Thor.
Runner up - ^

Underrated - Any non gimmicky Thor.
Runner up - ^

Overrated - Heimdall; I don't understand all the hype for the figure. It's crap.
Runner up - Odin; figure is pretty underwhelming in my eyes.

Iron Man 2
Best - Ultimate Iron Man; don't give a shit what people say, it's an awesome figure.
Runner up - Classic Iron Monger; It's just insanely well done.

Worst - Any Iron Man with a translucent plastic; they seem cheap.
Runner up - Most concept Iron Man figures.

Underrated - Titanium Man; it's a beaut.
Runner up - Classic Stealth Iron Man; the blue on the figure is just gorgeous.

Overrated - Hulkbuster; It's really not that great...
Runner up - Mandarin; It's still good, but not as good as I wanted it to be.

Best
Commander Rogers
Cable
Astonishing Wolverine
Deadpool
Cable
Dr. Strange introduced new wrist articulation. Sadly I haven't found one yet.
Runners up
WWHulk
Bleeding Edge Iron Man if I'm correct he was the first Mu figure to introduce the ankle rockers and the articulation on most of the newer figures.
Jim Lee Cyclops as much as I loved the 90s I hate this costume and much rather have had the new one but, I can't lie to myself this is an awesome figure.
Juggernaut
Underrated
The new Magneto. Everyone's hating on it but I want this figure soooo bad.
Overrated
Blade
Convention exclusives.
Doom with Infinity Gauntlet
Compound Hulk
X-force Archangel-STILL WANT THIS FUCKER THOUGH DAMN YOU HASBRO!!!!
Worst
Red Hulk- I fucking love this figure but just for the amazing head sculpt and character likeness but, Now that I know were getting a new one using the upcoming new Hulk sculpt it makes me realize how flawed this figure is. Still a great figure to me but that's just because I love the character and head sculpt. He'll do until I get the new one.
Punisher- Worst figure ever. All versions too.
All Iron men until the extremis and BE molds.
