I still think they chose this costume because they may be trying to find a slot to put a normal red hood out at retail.
This way they can get a heavily requested character to the fans, and still try to get the "real" one out in stores.

Either version would be a disappointment to me, though. Don't care for the character.
Cap Marvel Jr is pure win, though. Huntress is cool, too.

I've learned my lesson. Start selling plasma now, so I can afford to sub in 2014.

I think it's silly they're going to have a Batman retail line and they can't place Huntress there. If she does end up in the sub. . .I'll probably have to settle for my DC Direct one. She'll be expensive on eBay.

I wonder why they put that tag below her -- pending licensor approval. I don't think we've seen that before on a figure.

@CJ: If you'd count non-superheroes, you'd have to put Alfred and Jim Gordon in there. Probably both before Huntress. But all WAAAAAAAAAAAY ahead of Catman. (I'll admit -- I'd never heard of him until they made the Batman Legacy figure of him.)

Very true on Gordon and Alfred, but I was only counting personas. I think I'd put Afred and Gordon both ahead of Nightwing. And thanks to the Nolen series, I bet Lucious Fox is now on people's radar, though I don't know where he may be.

The Licensor approval tag means they're jumping the gun and showing something they really shouldn't even be announcing. I think they might be desparate to have something new to show.
Notice the "Do not photograph" line on it? I have no idea why they even bother. As evident, no one's going to honor that request.

Is the Batman Unlimited a continuation of sorts of the Batman Legacy line?

Just Announced,
Toy Guru’s also announcing that Freddy Freeman and Huntress (with her crossbow) are slated to arrive later in 2013.The images are still pending licensor approval, so keep your eye on this spot and we’ll release them as soon they’re approved!
EDIT: DID NOT KNOW THEY WERE ALREADY ANNOUNCED SORRY.

In fact, all they have to do is take the body from Sandman, give him a new cape, and sculpt a new head, and now they have Ra's. For Talia, they can just take the modern Catwoman body and sculpt a new head. It's not like they even have to work hard at those two, as they already have 90% of the work done.

The problem is, it is DCD, and their sculpts are fragile and break within days, if not minutes. Plus, he barely has any articulation. Finally, his legs look too thin for his body.

I've never found DCD to be too overly fragile. Yeah, they're definately more delicate than Mattel's, but they're not intended to be handled by kids.
Posibility is also improving, but inconsistant. I've been filling in holes in my lantern collection for a few years now, and some have really impressed me compaired to older DCD figs.
Black Lanterns Terra and Scar are great. Both are appropriate sizes to go with DCD, and both have a lot more articulation than I ever thought.
Scar has wrist swivles, neck, balljoint shoulders, standard T-crotch, and knees. (Compaired to Mattel's guardians that don't even have bodies), and Terra has the same.Be nice for them to have elbows, but I got them for $10, so I ain't gonna knock that.
Orange Lantern Luthor has the exact same articulation points as the DCUC version, save for the hips. DCD is the standard T-Crotch. That blew my mind that he has almost the same articulation as the mattel version. All that and a nicer sculpt, and funner head.
Then you got youy beautiful statues, like SC Mongul, which has the same articulation as a 4" mattel figure, but is so much more accurate than Mattel's SC Mongul. (Mattel didn't even get his colors right), and Walker, Indigo, and Sapphire Wonderwoman, who have balljoint shoulders, elbows, t-crotch, and knees, and that's pretty much it.

So, the sad thing about DCD is inconsistancy with their articulation. Sometimes they're equal footing to Mattel, sometimes not. Best advice is before ruling one out, is to actually examine the figure, and research it a little. Also, DCD tends to be a bit taller.
Great for characters like Wonder Woman (She should be taller than Superman), not so much with carol ferris or hal jordan. Unless a little scale inconsistancy doesn't bother you like it does me.

DCD isn't as bad a stand in, as people think.

Yeah, but I have had Hush Harley, Hush Joker, and Damian Robin all break on me and replacements were impossible to do. Every time DCD told me to contact my local comic shop, my comic shop told me to contact DCD directly. So the best solution was to just stop buying them.

Now, I do have several black lanterns that have not broken yet, but we'll see what happens when I move next month. Hawkgirl's legs are very fragile, while Hawkman's arms and wings feel fragile. Superman's lower arms feel like they want to pop off. Batman is the only one that feels pretty solid and I am not worried about him at all. I never bothered to buy Deadman because that dude looks like he will break instantly.

I do love the SC Mongul, but he is rotocast instead of normal plastic, making him vastly superior to any DCD figure.

Is it me or is Led just Darkseid with a new shirt & head? Weak sauce Mattel. I would love to see some new DC figs at retail.

Most likely, because they can only afford to cast new parts. They can't afford to make new tools for the CIE, because they didn't get enough subscribers to make that financially feasible.

They already said at SDCC that Lead would be using Darkseid's parts. I personally think it fits fine, as the Darkseid body is big like Lead should be.

Well Dr Kain you opend a whole can of Worms by calling figures "CRAP", every hero and villain has major followings. I would never call that Flash, Superman, Wonder Woman, Or Any Green Lantern "Crap" Namely because it insults the fans, creators, and writers. For one thing Requested Figures shows that Mattel listens to the Majority of Fans I mean after Platinum, Tin, and Lead, Red Hood (No matter how bad it looks), and Huntress Captain Marvel Jr. is a very wanted figure. Team Wise there are still groups with openings Doom Patrol, Young Justice, Justice Society, and All Star Squaderon.

I would like to see Dr. Light I & II, Black Canary I, Green Arrow II, Bleez, Brother Wrath, Indigo 1, and Dr. Magnus. Weather they do Al Ghul I can live without them

Uh... what?

Not sure if you were being negative or positive there, but Ras is the single most important villian of the Batman world. The only other villian that may be more important is Joker, but that is it.

Oh it's Negative I don't care for anything to do with Ra's Al Ghul I was disappointed he was in the Nolan Batman series, But I do understand he has a following and if you or other fans like him then great heck I don't even like Batman or Superman all that much I will always feel that DC Comics got a little whiney when Superman and Batman couldn't outsell Captain Marvel in the 1940's For that matter as does Captain Marvel, Mary Marvel, and Captain Marvel Jr. An Jr's biggest Fan of all time was/is None other then the King of Rock and Roll Elvis Pressley many of his stage costumes were based off of the SHAZAM! aka Captain Marvel Costumes heres the Full story of Elvis and Freddy Captain Marvel Jr and Elvis Presley Elvis' Collection of Captain Jr's Comics is treated like a Historic Document and if the King was Alive today I bet he'd have as many of his Figures as he could get.

I don't know. I'm rather fond of that Red Hood Outfit.

Also what is that Batman? That one that is not the coked up Batman or the new 52 one?
