Nobody's buying these. Right now they are destined for hard-core clearance.
Superman and Darkseid were at clearance at nearest Walmart to me. I almost got Darkseid, but I don't like his guzzied up look that much. And Supes is crazy eyed.

I'm still wondering when we're getting that Reverse Flash that leaked months ago (see pics on the previous page). The next wave includes Aquaman with beard, Black Manta, Classic Detective Batman, Tim Drake Robin, and a Rebirth Wonder Woman variant. But still no Reverse Flash that leaked with the first Wonder Woman last year.

This would be an inst-buy if it resembled the original more. However, it does not.

Another cheap disappointment. I'll pass. Too bad it isn't more like the original.

The original looked way better. Come on, just design it better.

Right. The OG Super Powers Batmobile is one of the, if not THE best Batmobile toys (outside of Hot Toys) ever produced.

These new McFarlane Super Powers figures lack the charm of the originals. I'm not talking about the original gimmicks either. The sculpts were better as a whole.

The priginal sp batmobile was one of the sleekest and coolest vehicles. This thing looks like the silver batmobile and batman and robin batmobile had a very fugly babay.

Yeah, I too had the original and I loved it. Sadly lost to time, though I still have the Batman and Robin Kenner figures.
I don't think this looks that bad. It's a bit updated whereas it didn't need to be, but I'll consider it depending on the price point.

"Again" would mean that Todd already tried one or more times. I don't think so. This thing is low-energy and low-effort all around. The correct thing to say is just "Try."

It's fine for what it is. But what it is, is TRASH.

But I do give it credit for being a two-seater.

The teaser photo seems to be showing the new Batman and Robin that's coming in this wave too. I appreciate that this Batmobile matches the classic Super Powers color scheme of the original, but I'm not really impressed with the design. But I'll still purchase it as an alternative Batmobile for my SP figures even though I own the original. I'd still prefer McFarlane do NEW original vehicles like they are doing with the Invisible Jet and Batwing, rather than remaking variations of vehicles like the Supermobile and Batmobile.

As a disinterested third party, they both look like horse shit as it regards detailing. That said, at least Kenner can hide behind the fact that they made their version in 1984. I appreciate that this is an homage, so I’ll cut Todd some slack. However, as far as car aesthetics are concerned, I much prefer the 80’s sensibilities represented in the Kenner version versus the 50’s sensibilities of McFar’s offering. Todd’s design decision doesn’t surprise me given that he’s a Boomer.

Ha! I remember being a kid scoffing at that thing and wondering if the design team knew Supes could fly. I blame their decisions on the popularity of modular Mironauts vehicles at the time that also sported wonky concepts.

What does this mean? [Genuine question]

Could it be that Todd doesn't have the rights to the original Kenner vehicles or something?

Ahahahaha utter garbage design.
Nostalgia does NOT make a design better. It makes it nostalgia.

No worries, I’ve read your comments over the years and know you aren’t the pugnacious type.

Nothing too deep, I don’t hate Boomers, just a statement that I believe McFar’s sensibilities regarding the Batmobile are influenced by what his generation would’ve seen. He was a child of the 60’s consuming car throwbacks to the 50’s. His youth would have featured heavily the 60’s show where the Batmobile was anachronistically styled after 50’s cars featuring fins and bolder concepts than did the more staid designs of 60’s sedans.

That said, what you've extended could easily be the reasoning behind his choice.

The Justice League banned the Justice Jogger because it made the Flash less relevant. If every hero can have super speed machines, what's the point of Barry Allen? (This was before The Flash was all about time travel).
Superman breaks it on purpose to make a point...only he and Flash can have super speed.

I dunno about micronaughts, seems more like TOMY (Zoids/Starriors) inspired toy.

And box art choices. Also, they had Robin operating the Delta Probe One, a completely characterless vehicle. Seems only Batman, Robin and Superman get to operate vehicles.
I mean even unreleased vehicles!

And yes, it's AWESOME that Darkseid can be defeated by a green hamster ball.
