I thought I'd share pics of two new variants: Stealth Armor Iron Man and Orange Flame Ghost Rider from the latest ML release.

I hope it's okay to post this here - if not, please let me know. I'm usually just hanging out here, not so much on posting!

Here we go again. And right out of the gate too. At least MU waited a vew waves before starting on the variants.

I'm actually pretty smitten with the Ghost Rider variant. On our Flickr page though, there's some supposition that the flames might be a "fire hat!" Ha!

But I think it looks fantastic. Here's a closer view of the figure and possible fire hat.

The "Stealth Suit" Iron Man has been one of my favorite version ever since it debuted in the comics when I was a kid-- but I still think that the IM is waaay too out of scale with the rest of the figures in the line. I mean, he's shorter and scrawnier than even Steve Rogers! That makes no sense to me.

I hope this doesn't make the blue flame ghost rider harder to find. That's the version I want.

I will say I prefer the red flames more than the blue. Might get both and pretend one is Johnny and the other is Danny.

Those weren't variants. They were separate releases with individual release numbers. From the checklist:

Wave 1
[ ] 001. Iron Man (modern)
[ ] 007. Human Torch (burning)
[ ] 009. Iron Man (modern stealth ops)
[ ] 011. Human Torch (modern FF costume)

Wave 1 of MU did have its share of variants (4 so far), but they weren't released until after we were already up to wave 3 or 4.

I like that they did the new Blue flame Dan Ketch, His costume and flames changed because he was killing other Ghost Riders around the world and taking their power and John Blaze had to stop his little brother (they are family if you did not know). I think they made him blue in the story more so you could tell them apart when you had two flaming characters fighting.

Really, didn't know that he was killing other GR's. I read it back in the 90's when it was DK as GR, stopped after the Midnight Son story line. Might be an interesting read to catch up on...so was DK a villain than?

Which are the variants? I found these at TRU tonight and they had 2 stealth Iron Mans but no red, and a red Ghost Rider (which I bought he's awesome) with no blue to be found. Also a clear shield Steve Rodgers, not sure if that is another variation or if the shield is supposed to be clear.

One other question, I haven't read Ghost Rider in a while. Red is Blaze (good) and blue is Ketch (bad)?

Is this really news to some people? I thought this was a known fact about the set before they started appearing everywhere.

the figures look great, definatley will try to aquire both Iron Man figures for my Haul of Armour, the rest I'm undecided about. The variants are stealth iron man, red flame ghost rider and clear shield cap, incase there's any confusion, and Thor is the only figure not to come with a baf piece. I may get hope, but steve rogers looks off to me, and if I'm gonna pay $20 for Thor I might as well spend the extra and get the CC version with awesome packaging. I will probably not attempt to "collect them all".

Damn, I actually saw this Iron Man today and passed on it. Maybe it'll still be there tomorrow.

Yup the shield is the variant for SR. Here's the solid shield. That whole wave suppose to have 11 total, with a swap out of Constrictor with another totally different figure from what the TRU CSR told me.

To be fair, we knew about the variants when the wave was first shown.
