Krang + Hordak would've been perfect.

Yeah, I don't know Hordak would mesh with. I'm not the most TMNT knowledgeble guy, though.

I know he wasn't on the promo art, but I feel that some TMNT character will be a Man-E-Faces.

I think someone said earlier, Faker / Metalhead, would be awesome.

Underwhelming. There's no character here. They look exactly like what they are, parts-bin specials (mostly).

I find the concept hilarious. This is something I would have LOVED in 1987. 2023? Easy pass. Hopefully there is a one shot comic or something.

And that's what I come to the forums for. Deep cut explanations!

But, to be honest, Megator is not pretty and neither is Krang here. But he will fit in with the He-man villains.

From the press release:

Quote:
"He-Man from Masters of the Universe will battle his Mutagen Mutation"
This figure must be the Mutagen Mutation. Like an Ooze-Clone of He-Man or something.

Is it just me, or is the packaging and art suggesting that He-Man is a villain here?

He is in the villain packaging. He's described as "Most Powerful Mutant in the Universe". He has larger arms and a toe busting through one of his boots. Looks to be a take on He-Man exposed to The Ooze. Possibly Slime Pit He-Man or Faker mashed with Super Shredder or Slash. He has elements of each character.

He-Man was always the villain. The aryan superman who enforces a human-centric hereditary monarchy. LOL.

It's funny for some the big dumb blue, mutated HE-MAN doesn't mesh with what they consider MOTU...a series with a lot of big silly characters. It's the headband, probably. Okay, the overlarge arms and expression...sure.

It's interesting that the art of Beast-Man looks to be samuraized...It's like the 200X samurai subset again.

So basically HE MAN is totally confusing lol.

Luckily it doesn’t matter to me because it’s super cool looking, love the oversized arms. At least there may be interesting, less predictable choices, with this line. Hopefully that doesn’t blow it and no one buys them. I’d like to see more waves of this mash up.

I’ve seen packaging leaks for the crossover shredder. So far the only figure I’ve liked the design for. Man, I wished these had come out in 1987. I would have been nuts for this.

wow! So many figures! Mattel has really committed. That’s cool. I’ll probably buy more than expected. I have some design gripes but the pics are small and I also haven’t seen them in person. Shredder is looking really cool. The helmet looks a little “Bay” but I’m not saying anything until I see more. Hard to say more about the others, need more pics.

The new pictures of He-Man look like a running change almost. Opaque skin instead of semi-translucent, and the face sculpt is different.

Ram Man as an actual ram is great. I may have to get him and Sla'ker. Though I hope they do a non-clear version of Ram Man.

Interesting that there's still not a Michelangelo.

I agree, looking good, fun. Still in for pick and choose.

I guess I'm in the minority here with not finding the appeal of this silly mash-up line and having no interest in buying any of them. I'll stick with just the regular Origins and Masterverse figures.

It's supposed to be a fun variation for me it's mostly hitting and I don't collect either line.

The close up pics helped a lot!

-trap jaw looks way less weird with all the changeability. Definitely buying now.
-shredder. HELL YEAH! That is one of the greatest shredders of all shredders!!!
-moss man. Wildly exciting! Look at the Venus flytrap head!
- he-man running change??? Say it ain’t so!!!! The additional problem is I really like the change too, but I like the translucent more! I think the arms are a little shorter this change? I like the longer arms. Please release both versions if your changing up. that’s probably impossible but anyway…
- beast man? Ummmmm…why is it still just a normal beast man? The samurai armor is well done, not a huge fan of the theme, but it’s still just a beast man hidden under the armor with ZERO MUTATION. Why.
- Slash, Ram man, Krang. Super awesome! The turtles. Cooler than I first thought.
- still can’t fully understand Man at Arms. The crossover integration is barely there compared to the standard for Motu characters in this line. Maybe that’s the point? But why not cross him with a tmnt character more? Human or not. Give me a reason to care. I.E. Trap jaw is “Baxter-Jaw”. Ram man is still himself but mutated into an animal. He man is still he man but super jacked up on mutagen… Man at arms is, man at arms, with a turtle shell pattern shield. It feels like there is explanation for it but can’t figure it out. At this point I think he might be the only one I’m passing on.

I’m really liking the TRANSLUCENT theme with, way more than expected, figures in the line. Id like to see it keep going like that….
Yet, I’m a littttle confused now seeing the running change to he-man…are they going to change the other translucent figs now too? Do I want that? I honestly don’t know. I’m really loving the theme but if I saw them as a solid color would I just want both? Mattel you crazy cats!

You got me Mattel! Tmnt x Motu is a go!

You aren’t alone in not buying these, but I find the line refreshing, entertaining, and something I would actually buy my 6yr old nephew to introduce him to the original 80’s cartoons of both lines and get him off the Marvel drip feed.

Too bad Playmates isn’t taking a page from Mattel and retooling the retro tmnt figures. I would buy the line in a second. Instead, we get crappy street fighter and stranger things mashups.

I'm not a translucent fan. Ram Man would be cooler with opaque skinned. Likewise, Mossman. Mossman's head is kinda 200X series like.

Yeah, Beastman is rather lazy. If you missed Origins Beastman, you can get this one, leave off the samurai stuff...and still not have his whip or bicep armor.

Slash-Faker is a bit too cartoony for me.

Shredder and Raphael are as expected. Just there.

Krang's attachment has an actual chain? Boy, that makes the Origins Snake Mountain chains seem CHEAP.

They didn't include both April and Evil-Lyn? Seems like a lot of misses in this line
