I really hope that this is not going to be common in this line. I know that these characters are two of their most popular right now but that is pretty excessive.
1. Ironman extremis
2. Ironman Stealth Extremis
3. Classic Ironman
4. Big battles Ditko Ironman
5. Silver Centurion
6. Stealth classic
7. Secret Wars IronMan and SpiderWoman

1. Spidey
2. Spidey Running change
3. Black Suit Spidey
4. Wave 5 spidey
5. Secret Wars Spidey
6. TRU Firestar 3 pack spidey

So out of the 50+ so far maybe 13 of them are spidey's and Ironman so far. But that really depends on when the gigantic battles hit shelves, or the secret wars 2 packs. And that 50+ could be closer to 60 or more when you really look at the checklists and how many months they have left for waves.
Between waves 1-5 +secret wars, gigantic battles, and the TRU three pack already puts us at over 50 Figures for this year. So they may fill in the gap of all those spideys and ironman quite fast. At the rate these are selling, I wouldn't be surprised if they are using those 2 to fill spots to spread more new molds around. But the fact of spidey being a new mold is weird to that regard. Why do we need more molds of him?

I'm not sure who else they can make from the current part roster, but at least Captain Britain seems likely from guardian.

Do we know that the "50+" number refers to all Marvel Universe releases (including multi-packs) or was it only referring to the single pack waves?

Ok then, we're at 4 each so far. My guess is we might also see the following at some point:

IM:
Hulkbuster
War Machine (may appear as Rhodey, not Tony)
Satellite
Heroes Reborn
Golden Age
Asgardian
SKIN

Spidey:
Bag-Man (unlikely)
Spider Armor
Iron Spider
Cosmic

If they do the Iron Spiderman he better be able to pull off this pose:

At 3.75 scale I don't see why not.

It refers to figures itself. Though I think the exact number was like 68+ I said 50 cause I mostly just remember it being over 50. Now if they said how many single packs, that one I never heard.

And I missed black suit spidey of the secret wars two packs. So make that 14 figures of them planned so far.

I'd also add Scarlet Spider, and Ben Reilly spiderman to that list too.
Scarlet spider from the symbiote suit spidey.

I look at it this way: if it weren't for the Wolverine movie, imagine how many of those slots would have been taken up by Logan? He's certainly more popular than Iron Man and may have eclipsed Spider-Man as the most recognized Marvel character (though it pains me to say that).

I agree, but it's another remold that Hasbro could pull off, so it had to go on the list.

This is true, which gets him out of the way early on. I do appreciate having the companion line like this. As well as what may come from future movies.
I'm just hoping SDCC will show us some female heroes already. Because between all these scale lines, so far there's only 6 I think, 2 of which being fan poll.

Maybe it's just the waiting between waves information that gets me. Collecting these is about like comic collecting. Especially the filler. xD

Trebleshot brings up a really good point with the Wolverine Origins figures. Within that line alone there are about 10 versions of Wolverine/Logan. That could have carried over into the MU line, although probably not as severe. It is very nice though to have both lines.

I can't wait for Iron Man 2 figures. I'm pretty sure that they will be in the 3.75" scale. It'll be cool to get a movie Iron Man figure in this size.

And what about the recently announced Spider-Man 4 movie? Hopefully Hasbro will continue down this path and give us all toys in this scale. Maybe they can add movie playsets! Maybe they can even release all the characters from the previous Spider-Man movies in this scale. They did, afterall, release Green Goblin and Doc Ock figures during the wave of Spider-Man 3 toys.

Hopefully from now on Hasbro will release all Marvel movie figures in this size.
