The reported price for this set is $300, which is absurd. One of the NECA reps at SDCC claimed it would probably be $250, which also seems very high when compared to how they priced the street scene diorama. I think NECA is pricing too many collectors out of getting this set, which is disappointing. I was going to get it when I thought that maybe it would be around $150-200, but $300 is just not worth it. And they have THREE of these planned (living room now, then kitchen and lab areas later), plus a potential 4th one to buy if you want to put the van in a "garage" section like what was shown at Power Con. So that's $900-1200 total plus however much tax and shipping would be if you want all the lair sections. Totally not worth it.

Wow….$300? That’s really the price? This makes the Thundercats lair look look the deal of a lifetime.

I want this but it’s a shoebox…with some little pieces of furniture. If this is over $200 then either the rate of inflation is way higher or Neca just thinks turtles fans will literally pay anything that’s asked. Maybe it’s both.

$300 might have made sense if the accessory set with most of the extra stuff to go in this diorama was part of the total price and included with the diorama in the first place rather than sold separately. But given that we had to buy the accessory set separately, the price for this diorama needs to be reduced quite a bit since, as mentioned, it's basically a shoebox of 3 walls and a floor with very little else inside it.

I'm glad the accessory set at least is going up again. I can't do $300 for that.

I'd buy it at $150, maybe $200, but for $300 I can get an Extreme Set sewer diorama, a rooftop, a warehouse interior, and some accessories.

A bunch of cubes and cylinders, what’s to stop someone from 3D printing this and save the money? There’s no articulation so the materials you use won’t even matter. Bone heads, should release each piece as an accessory with an old Turtle figure you already made.

Well, we went from having no decent Party Wagons to having 3 options pretty quickly, maybe Super 7 and 3rd party creators will throw their hats in the ring as well.

Problem is that nobody else except NECA is doing the cartoon style, which these lair dioramas are based on. Super 7 does the vintage toy style and I can't see them doing a lair playset. They'd more likely tackle a Technodrome playset first after the success of the Cat's Lair. So yeah 3rd party/ Etsy 3D printed stuff is the only alternative for something like this.

Supposedly...the previously released street Dios are supposed to be able to rest on top of these sewer Dios, so I'm thinking that if the 300 dollar price tag turns out to be true, part of the cost is being attributed to the fact that these are likely to be casted in heavy resin so that they can support the weight of the street dio while being heavy enough to provide it with proper balance.

I remember the Predator trophy wall and AVP throne being casted in resin as well, and those were outlandishly priced (not to mention fragile and heavy) at the time as well. Only time will tell how these are constructed exactly. I find it curious that Neca is being so secretive over the price, but if these are in the 300 dollar price range...as much as I'd like to support it... I simply can't. There are literally dozens of talented dio-makers and artists out there producing similar items that will ultimately be lighter, easier to store, and be made with more love and care than this at a much lower price.

That really sucks if that's the reason. I don't have the street scene and I'm sure many people don't have the vertical room. I like the idea of being able to mix these dios together, but not at a huge added cost.

I just don’t have any room for something so limited. I never saw the sewer lair as an exciting background. Now the technodrome’s portal room is a definite to consider. I can pose dramatic fights from the cartoon and the arcade games.

At $300, however, even the technodrome control room isn’t a guaranteed buy for me, since that’s a huge chunk of change. $150 to $180 would seem more appropriate seeing as how these have no gimmicks and few accessories. I could make this with a doll box and some decals for less than $80.

I hope this doesn't come off as too harsh but I hope this preorder bombs. Twice the price of the twice as big street scene? We're all screwed if the TMNT folks tell NECA this is okay pricing. :/

I have every single item released in this line so far, with the van coming soon. Even though it would be nice to have a complete collection, there is no way I can justify the price of this. I don't know how NECA could justify it. It is absolutely absurd on so many levels. So, now that I will no longer have the complete set, I feel I can part with some (many) of the figures I have that I only own because I was "getting them all". Its kind of freeing.

Neca will see the pre orders not going and make this a limited 1000 piece release, then every Tmnt collector will jump on this

I know exactly what you mean. I don’t know if it’s this plastic addiction or just the true love of the figures, but not getting this playset feels freeing. I don’t need the few last sets that came out. I don’t need the accessories now that I’m not getting the playset. I’ll get the giant krang and that’s it.

The ghost feels worth $500. That thing is a work of art and so detailed it’s unreal.

The thundercats lair feels worth $650. I’ve never seen anything that quite matches the beauty of that masterpiece.

This just doesn’t feel worth it. $200. Yes I’d be in. In fact that would be high to me, but I’d be in. I really thought these would come in around the price of the building Dioramas. $150 tops.

I really believe Neca did some harm to themselves with this one. Time will tell.

Yep. This sorta feels like a slap in my face. I've hunted and bought everything in this set. And now this? It's Like a bucket of cold water on my head. Honestly......**** off.

Funny thing is, what killed it for me is the picture of the set breakdown. When it clicked in my brain this was LESS STUFF than the city street, but costs more, I was out. The city street is just so versatile, I’d rather just get more of those than the very limited sewer den. I’ve used the city street for X-men and sentinels, Batman, spawn, Spiderman, etc. I’d rather get one of the more realistic foam dioramas from eBay that can be used for multiple characters.

That damn diorama set can and has been used so many times by so many lines in my collection it’s unreal. I have all 3 different ones and to think that the sewer is the price of almost all 3 of those together is laughable.

Neca is slowly losing fans. This could be them doing their Hasbro and its up to fans to say no.

They intend to make this 2 more times, probably a new wall. I was expecting it to be at most 150...just crazy what neca is be becoming.

There are rumors Hasbro will stop making toys and you could see NECA a turn for the worst I fear. Clearly the golden age of Toys are over....we shall see how this plays out, but the overwhelming reaction to the question are we buying this 3 wallwd Diorama is "Hellz No."

I've used the street diorama for pratically everything Marvel, Sentai, Kamen Rider, Gargoyles, Godzilla, GI Joe, Ultraman, TMNT, Halloween, Friday 13, etc.

The only things I could really use the sewer set beyond TMNT for are Morlocks from X-Men, maybe some Film Noir re-enactments, perhaps a few GI Joe bits, and F13 if they ever due the Jason from Takes Manhattan.
