I don't know anything about Defenders of the Earth so all I can think when seeing Mandrake the Magician is that he works perfect as a Zatara from D.C. that could fit in with McFarlanes line.

Good to have a Renet figure finally after all this time, but holy crap what are those colors?!?

(also she's not obscure at all, I wouldn't say she's even just for the hardcore. She's been around longer than the first cartoon series)

Wtf is the "exclusive reveal" on a random-ass Instagram account though???

Thrilled that they are definitely finishing up the Defenders of Earth line, especially with the Garax reveal which I assumed they weren't doing since he wasn't on the cardbacks like Mandrake and Lothar were.

I still can't believe NECA is making figures for a fairly shitty PS2 Predator game. Scarface I get, because he was the main character and looks pretty cool, but I didn't even play enough through the game (because it really played like shit) see these weird cyborg Predators.

What's annoying me lately about NECA is their current insane hard-on for TMNT and properties from the 1930s. I've enjoyed the Universal Monsters they've been doing (where's the Metaluna Mutant??), But they recently got use of the Friday the 13th license back and other than the Part 7 figure they haven't even teased any new figures from that line. Wolf Predator has been sitting on the back burner for over 4 years now. And other than tons of re-releases and repaints, they haven't done anything significant with the Alien license in a while either.

I'm all for them trying new stuff, but they shouldn't be leaving fans of their other franchises hanging for so long.

TMNT sells REALLY REALLY well. It's not that hard to understand why NECA or any other license holder churns out so much TMNT merch.

Meanwhile I am STILL waiting for ANY kind of reveal for the Hammer Horror license they acquired nearly a year and a half ago. It's really starting to concern me that they have no interest in doing anything with it and are just going to sit on the license like Mattel did with Back to the Future. Mattel at one time had the rights to produce BTTF figures in 6" scale and DIDN'T do a single one. All we ever got out of that license was the life size hoverboard prop replica which came with a 6" scale hoverboard with it, almost like a cruel tease of a 6" line that would never come to be. On the bright side, NECA at least finally came through with their own line which is clearly much better and more detailed than Mattel probably would have ever produced.

Yeah just saw that on TNI. That 2nd accessory set has some impressive stuff in it. I especially like the early 1990s computer. I wonder if the "Nina Rap is Born!" newspaper accessory might be a tease of us actually getting a Vanilla Ice figure in this line. They are pretty much doing ALL the characters from the first 2 films at this point. They've already teased the Kino pizza boy figure coming, and I think Tatsu (Shredder's 2nd in command in the first film) is coming too. So it wouldn't surprise me for them to do a Vanilla Ice figure as well. I wonder if they'll pursue doing Sam Rockwell's character too if they can get his approval. Him and Tatsu would make a logical 2-pack. I also expect we'll eventually get a box set of the turtles in samurai armor from the 3rd film too.

They've shown and teased several Gargoyles characters already, which is more than I can say for Hammer Horror or the rest of the Lost Tribe Predators we're still waiting on for nearly 2 years now, all of which were expected out in 2020 during Predator 2's 30th anniversary tribute.

Let's not snipe like this, I could just as easily do that with Turtles... I just hope we all get to see more of what we'd like to see.

Sorry to offend. It wasn't directed at you. Rather it was directed at NECA for dragging their feet with reveals and releases on certain lines. Randy Falk probably doesn't ever read this board, but I gotta vent somewhere.

It's just frustrating that this will be the 2nd year in a row with no Toy Fair and we're really only going to get a fraction of the amount of reveals that would have normally been shown at an actual convention. I fear those days are gone for good now that the slow trickle of online reveals is becoming the norm.

No worries... right now, I'd be thrilled to see Bruce the Shark.

I'm still crossing my fingers that they'll pull off a miracle and convince Roy Scheider's estate holders to let them do a Brody figure after all.

And they just revealed a new figure of the Thing. Not what I was waiting for, but different from what we've seen already this weekend and it looks cool.

For funsies, I'm gonna guess the Dog-Things will either be a two-pack with some accessories (or just a deluxe accessory set itself), or sold individually with a pack-in Husky figurine! Either way, hope we get some monster arms that plug into the back of the more advanced-stage Kennel thing!

Fans of the comic strips ... should be pleased (like me) to get a good Mandrake action figure.
Finally, ... Lee Falk's ...The Phantom and Mandrake...!! ACES.!!
I'm surprised more fans haven't posted about the ol' Magician ... and seemed to have forgotten the first 'super-hero' ...that beat almost everybody to the 'game'!!
Well, ... I'm REALLY glad to get him.
I'm not wild about the cartoon ... or the other figures besides Flash, The Phantom, and Mandrake.
Never cared for the Lothar-cartoon-look ... the kids, or Zuffy ....(or whatever) ...
The comic strip/comic book heroes ...I'll be glad to see.
The new 'Original Super-Heroes' line could be great.!!
Hope to see more of the Pulp Heroes like ... THE SHADOW, Doc Savage, ... and others like Green Hornet, The Spider, ... and maybe even... Fu Manchu, Sir Nayland Smith and Dr. Petrie.!!
Anyway, ... thanks NECA for this direction.!!
And hopefully, we might see ... a Lothar ... with his tribal costume look.!!

Lothars head looks terrible. Its like if lance reddick and charles barkley had a kid then that kid had permanent fart face. I think ill put my netflix luke cage on it instead.

Eastman and Laird were heavily influenced by Kirby, obviously. Almost as much as by Miller.

Anyway Renet is awesome, and the only reason I even clicked on this thread. Nice that she finally has a figure.

Renet's colors are apparently based on one of IDW's bizarre recolors that slipped even past my radar, as it wasn't even released individually or in a regular trade, but instead just one of the "The Works" hardcovers. She wore blue in all of the other Color Classics issues.

It's not the first time they released the IDW recolors as a figure, but at least that was a LootCrate exclusive and the original already existed. To reveal/make the obscure alt before the original just makes no sense.

Holy shit, the two versions of the dog kennel Thing look fucking awesome. Faith in NECA restored. Please everyone, buy everything that NECA makes that is Thing-related so we continue to get more and more from the line. PLEASE.

Now just announce Childs, the Blairmonster, every form of Norris, and the Palmer monster from the blood test scene. And of the other residents of Outpost 31 that you care to make, please.
