Awesome.

I hope they'll do a bust at some point. $275 is a lil rich for me.

Edit: Maybe not. The physique, face, and wings look off.

Frankly it looks like a knock-off. I'm not impressed at all.

I'm a HUGE Gargoyles fan so I hit this link like two suns colliding.

I really wanted to like it but I'm not feeling Bowen's redesign here for Goliath.

The show designs are fantastic and while I'd be down for a more "realistic" take on the Gargoyles for a statue, this one isn't doing it for me. Which I guess in nice with that $275 price tag. I think part of it is that his proportions look a bit too human, and Goliath is built larger then that.

Also he looks too Blue, Goliath should have a bit more Purple in him.

I also got extremely excited to see this headline.... and it all went away when I saw the pictures.

Arm bands, wrist straps, spikes on every joint of his wings.... what the hell?!?!?

I don't even mind that he was humanized a bit.. but I think it was taken too far.

I prefer the simplistic design of his belt in the cartoon, no need to complicate the design for the sake of it. Where did the little talon go that should be on the back of his ankle... just bad decisions if you ask me.

As much as I don't like the price point, to be honest, I wouldn't even want to pick this up for $50. It's still a cool piece of art.. but not for this Gargoyle's fan!

This might explain some of the stylistic differences from the original Goliath design.

Bowen's "Gargoyle" sculpture from before he got the Disney license.

So it wasn't even a Gargoyles statue initially? It was a cheap knock-off?

Geez, guess I nailed that one right on the money. Boo to Bowen.

How lazy do you gotta be. Just tweak something you already did.

It may have been something he did to get the license from Disney. Like a "look what I can do for your characters" kinda thing. I haven't been able to find out what came first, the pitch or the sculpt.

Either way the "tweaked final version" may be what we'd have gotten since it's still Bowen's Goliath. No matter which order the process went.

This is a great idea, but it kind of looks like Goliath just got shot in the back. This would be sold at $50, for $275... not so much.
Still, it's great to see anything new Gargoyles being made.

Gargoyles was as near and dear to me as a child as Beast Wars was, and this just does not convey Gargoyles. It looks more inspired by the character Goliath, not a representation of him.

I realistic approach would be cool, but the arm bands, white brow horns and the smaller build just don't do it. Goliath was a monster, literally, this does not capture that brutalness of his design.

I would love to see a marquette of Goliath more closely based on the cartoon. I'm sure somewhere one exists, though.

I agree with you guys. That's a nice statue, but that isn't quite "Goliath" to me. Like some have said, it seems to take the realism a bit too far.

Still a great statue, but it is just not what I'd picture the character looking like if some said to me "remember Goliath from Gargoyles".
