I had to satisfy my own curiosity so I bought another Wolvie/Cap comic pack off of HTS and compared the old one I have to the new one. There is no difference in the figures, but there are minor differences in the packaging. The Marvel Universe logo now has a blue line in between Marvel and Universe instead of white, the ages 4 and up no longer has a black background, and on the back the advertisement for Spider-Man/Sentry is now Thanos/Adam Warlock. There's no other difference as far as I can tell. So this new pack is for the extreme completionist collectors who must have them all.

thanks man I've been wondering about that for a while. 15 bucks for a blue line.... I'm not sure this meets my criteria of "variant".

I laughed because I liked the sarcasm but that was also unnecessary. I actually think as a graphic designer that that's a little odd on marvels part to rebrand the logo on an edition of the packaging when it's twice the work and being lazy and not changing it would be easier. It's Also weak on brand integrity. So there's that.

Not to mention if you have 15 bucks to drop out of curiosity clearly someone's making more than me so I can only envy and live vicariously.

Marvel changing the MU logo would not automatically make Hasbro re-do the packaging and re-release older figure to just to reflect the change. More likely, what's happened is Hasbro found out that they needed to make additional batces of comic packs and decided to update the packaging slightly (especially if they already had to change the MU logo).

And while it may seem kind of pointless to most of us, it is a way to prove that those "new" comic packs are from a new factory run and not simply leftover stock from the last run of them.

Woops my bad!
Sorry, I tend to forget that toys are also for kids... please accept my apologies m-_-m

Here is some 3.75 love with the Iron Spider I finally fetched in Paris' biggest comic shop for 14E (20~$).

I was actually very happy to fetch him since he's the only Spidey fig I was intending to buy with the Paperbag one. Too much Spidey made me hate classics Spidey, and I love the costume. Too bad he only used it in a couple of issues.
I've never seen a MU Goblin so I bought the first I saw when I was in Miami, and even if the colors are quite bright, the sculpt is great!

I also grabbed some Injustice toys, and began to launch a full Marvel VS DC war on my shelves.

Because the revision figures are all part of the wave now with new packaging and #'s. With some even having major changes. The others ones are on the backs too.

Series 5
#001 Silver Surfer (no figure changes?)
#002 Iron Fist (wave 17 white Iron Fist repainted green & gold)
#003 Rhino (NEW)
#004 Captain America (NEW)
#005 Mysterio (NEW)
#006 Elektra (NEW)
#007 Black Costume Spider-Man (no figure changes?)
#008 Iron Spider-Man (new paint)

Iron Fist looks awesome and will be replacing my previous Yellow dragon for my Heroic Age New Avengers.

I think Black Costume Spider-Man is done in all black similar to the 2-pack verison that came with Magento. The original single card had the blue shading.

From what I can tell, it looks like the blue highlights might just be a result of the flash from the camera. There are wide areas of him that are completely devoid of any shading at all. But if that's just due to a QC issue, the deco may be trying to mimic the finish that Dark Spider-Man had (the comic pack version w/Daken).

So Troll from Thunderbolts will be on the back of the next wave of figures. So far these characters have appeared.

1. Nick Fury
2. Norman Osbourne
3. Commander Steve Rogers
4. Deadpool
5. Rocket Raccon
6. M.O.D.O.K.
7. Sasquatch
8. Dazzler
9. Troll

OOOH thanks for the ironfist heads up! I can't wait to get one along with Elektra—who honestly is the best part of this line.

I think Dazzler deserves a MU figure. she's a fan favorite and us gays love her fab ways.
I stick by my earlier 3 pack ideas, Fearless Defenders Val/Misty/Dani
or Australian X-men Dazzler/Rogue/Psylocke pre-body swap or Storm

You know, for the MOC collectors who need every figure, these changes are crazy and may be incredibly annoying. But I am hoping this is a GOOD sign they are going to go back and redo figures even with minor things. The ones they actually improve all will be great collection additions and a good way for new fans to start.

Plus the minor changes to Iron Fist are tops. Not sold on the other three but at least there is a LITTLE effort to improve on the repacks that come out. And if they hit on a FEW of the repacks? I think we all could end up pretty pleased.

I just wish the changes were more substantial, we're all squinting and trying to decide if there's a slight difference in shading, when a full repaint would have been more appealing to collectors, like they did with Iron fist. I just cant get over the fact that A-bomb and Abomination are going to be "variants" of one another, presumably numbered the same meanwhile were getting a lot of outdated molds, with the same, or so damn close who can tell, paint in new packaging. Heck if they put the black costume paint job on the new Ultimate Spidey mold it would have been great.

Maybe they will release Abomination & A-Bomb at the same time. It's what they did with the last variant anyways (Blastaar).

Yes please!
For me the Australian roster was the best, in term of balance and characters. Just before everything goes awkwardly gritty and everyone gets a lot of pouches.

Haha yeah, at first I wasn't sure what to do, but Venom's togue was perfectly matching Grundy's hand.
I can't wait to get Deathstroke and do something epic. I also already have an idea of Black Adam slaughtering some Skrulls while saying "who's that mar-vell you're taliking about?"

And also, for helping fellow Arkers, the exact name of the Gi Joes knock-offs is:
WORLD PEACEKEEPERS

It seems that they're from a UK maker, but here in France they're awfully expensive... very far from the 15$ everyone else paid them.
