I think that might be waves 1 and 2. Hulk, Thor, Iron Man and Cap have been out in the US for a little while but none of the others.

The ScarletWitch looks to be a good Skky pre I can fight now I'm Daisy !!! and finally some hex effects for the actual ScarletWitch cause making those the first time would have been to hard :-p
Hey guess also have a question....I'm in the process of designing 2 more dioramas...Now you guys have seen pics of the warehouse type that i use... so my question i guess is how do you view Hydra /A.I.M...when it comes to baddies and hideouts ? Is A.I.M most likely to have a stargate or a weather dominator in it....while Hydra more weapons ? and gun crates with stuff they bought from A.I.M , then like a separate hideout for Zola to torture people and gentics ? For you what are the factions roles... I know I'm ranting but I cant figure out how to word my question to cover the different parts.. In Marvel is it like this Strucker =Cobra Commander, MODOK= Destro, Zola =Mindbender, Red Skull=Zartan, Zemo=Major blood ??? Last edited by samsson37; 03-16-2015 at 06:43 AM.. |

I fully plan on buying many of those 5-POA figures, especially the Iron Man, War Machine, and multiples of the Iron legion. Building my Armory has become an addiction. Which given that my favorite hero is Thor is ind of funny.

Iron Man was my favourite as a kid...... I am a HUGE army builder, but oddly enough....we only have a SINGLE IM figure, and it is the Extremis one at that.
People are hating on the line, I dont mind SOME 5 poa, as the Chitauri work I guess. Nice for background figures. I will buy some.

5-POA to me is just slightly too little. It's fine for some things (I like the Iron Men I have that have it because they work nicely standing in an Armory), but ideally I'd be happy with 9: neck, shoulder and hip cuts, and elbow and knee bends.

In the total scheme of the Marvel world they place on the danger scales from most to least dangerous on any given day something like this: Baron Zemo, Red Skull, MODOK, Arnim Zola, and Baron Strucker (deceased).

Well in the comics originally Red Skull has had very little to do with Hydra, and Zemo has never been tied to Hydra until recently. If we have to make comparisons to Cobra then Strucker was half of Cobra Commander of Hydra and the Scientist Supreme is Cobra Commander of AIM. Red Skull was just a very high ranking Nazi and Arnim Zola worked for him before Hydra was part of their thing, the comics have just brought Skull and Zola into Hydra because that's what the movies are doing though Red Skull also has ties to AIM. Baron Strucker and Madame Hydra were the two leaders of Hydra from its origin in WWII until Strucker's death leaving madame Hydra as their usual and most common leader. AIM is a faction of evil scientists who were also created by Strucker during WWII with dreams of world domination through evil science stuff, eventually this group splintered from Strucker and their ties to any other organization were usually purely economic and they kept the best toys for themselves. Baron Zemo is a super-villain of his own right and has had no faction until recently. Heinrich Zemo was a Nazi and a super scientist active long before either group had any real presence, and Helmut Zemo has never been associated with either party until recently becoming the new leader of Hydra alongside Madame Hydra. Helmut Zemo usually spends his time making super teams to bring the Avengers to their knees or to serve some hidden ulterior motives under the guise of good, that or he's got some deep planned scheme against Captain America which is usually very well though out and strategically planned. MODOK is actually not AIM's leader, he's just one of their pride and joys and a high ranking member, though AIM is way less militaristic than Hydra so there is less of the rank system going around with the guy who does represent them as leader being called the Scientist Supreme.

I've always liked the idea (for purposes of figures on my shelves) that Hydra spawned both A.I.M. and Cobra, and Cobra in turn spawned V.E.N.O.M. Likewise, S.H.I.E.L.D. spawned G.I. Joe, which in turn spawned M.A.S.K.
That way, all the figures can play nice on the shelf together in my own personal canon. ![]() |

Wow dang really..not a surprise. Glad I checked this morning. I usually don't...I'm sure they'll come back in stock though. Retail brick n mortar doesn't seem to be getting these things fast enough.

Also HYDRA was merely reformed in WW2, it goes back to Egyptian times.

True, there was the order of the shield and the order of the spear. The spear became a cult devoted to science and the supernatural which went through many different names and operated as a cult until Strucker was like "hey I like science and myths and cult stuff, let's bring that back but add a hint of fascism and super-villainy!" It is a little cheesy/purposefully coincidental then that the organization which Hydra opposes the most is a nod to Hydra's ancestor organization's sibling.

SHIELD is international/U.N.(they replace U.N.I.T. when that division was shut down so I can include Doctor Who stuff too!), GI Joe is American support, and the sub branches deviate from there like Earth Corps, M.A.S.K. Avengers, X-teams, etc. This way they can all hang on the helicarrier, or triskellion without any issues and also include world wide heroes. Same to Cobra for me, I lean heavier though with my display that Doom 2099 came back in time, sent Doom to 2099 (to complete his loop and vacate the throne for him) and took over Hydra, A.I.M. and rallied the villains. Cobra (now Cobra Shocker after merging with a Japanese terrorist group) being another group they work with or occasionally have conflicts with. This way I can troop build and intermingle them as I please, and also toss in the occasional random custom. I'm also starting to intermingle in the DC movie figures and team building them to go with the movie Marvel/GI Joe. Oddly kind of works too. Man of steel supes does kind of fill the movie Sentry role rather perfectly. |
