I'd also like to add that mentioning the Groot BAF wave actually hurts your argument. The Guardians of the Galaxy were relatively unknown to the casual person prior to the movie, yet they got an entire wave where all but two of the figures were comic based. And it's easy to forget that, at the time, people didn't think that the movie would be as huge a success as it ended up being.

Sure, Yondu and Nebula didn't show up until later on, but that's also because they weren't nearly as much of a focal point as they were in Vol. 2.

On the subject, Randall Park is confirmed to be playing Jimmy Woo and Laurence Fishburne is gonna be playing Bill Foster.

Anyone else hoping we might get some Agents of Atlas or a Black Goliath out of this? Black Goliath as a BAF would be pretty sweet.

HOly mother of god. That second Thor trailer is nearly as awesome as the first one (the song from the first one tips it over the edge.) I don't know how good the movie is actually going to be, though it really looks like it will be awesome, but I think Marvel produced the two best trailers they've done so far for this movie. Seriously the Thor movies were some of the lower points of the MCU for me but this just looks....amazing.

Then I go watch the Justice League trailer and it's just awful nuts. I wanna punch Flash in the face. They think he's edgy funny but it's just annoying.

All I know is that I have to get this movie poster....

I'll get the Deadpool wave, the X-Men wave, 12" Wolverine (hopefully I can get it at clearance ot a discount), and Wolverine on vintage card back. It would have been nice if they just included the head and mask with the 2016 Wolverine. The BAF Apocalypse is ok but I still like my Toy Biz BAF Appcalypse. He still fits in with ML and 3.75" scale.

Deathlok was in Uncanny X-Force a few years back.

I too was very surprised at the lack of Avengers Wave 1 product. Songbird and some teasers...I guess that's what Hasbrocon is for. I seriously thought for X-men we might see a picture or two besides the BAF, but at least we got confirmation the wave is coming...eventually.

Watching the video, the crowd was at its wildest when the X-Men logo came out. Hasbro has got to know by now there is support for X-Men product, myself I could never get enough. Even so, I would not expect much at Hascon aside from maybe an early mold or two and photos. I really expect Storm to be one of the those...as I'm not even considering they won't be putting her in this wave. I would expect we'll see the wave in full by Toy Fair. I know, 7 more months away...but at least we know it's coming.

Marvel Legends is for both the movies and comics, but you'd have to delusional to convince yourself that the movies aren't the primary focus of the line as far as marketing and branding goes.



And those other lines target entirely different markets from Hasbro due to price point and availability. At the end of the day, if you're a casual fan of the Marvel movies (i.e., most people), you're not going to drop $60+ to import an SHF, drop $80 on a Mezco, or, even more laughably, $250+ on a Hot Toys. The type of market Hasbro tries to reach are the people that casually stroll into a Wal-Mart, go "Oh look, it's Thor from that kickass movie!" and pick it up off the shelves because it's only $20 and it looks cool.




The biggest wave of pegwarmers that we ever got was the Allfather Wave, and that was nothing but comic characters, and well-known comic book characters at that.

yea thats due to the ball joints on iron fist legs and thors (i brought iron fist tho) and hawkeyes face is so bad. tho funny thing is those were the hard to find ones its that or they just figured to not release alot of those

i have not heard that i heard it was due to releasing two white characters that are also kings, and i think the only dumb thing hasbro did was call the wave a BP wave cause you know if it just had him in their most the SJW wouldnt be complaining about it.

Im all for any excuse to release large scaled figs like evil goliath or black goliath. The larger figs really make a display pop!

Like I would have not known who The Question was in DC had it not been for JLU as non of the comics I read at the time had featured him. I didn't know who Jessica Jones was until the Netflix TV show. I didn't know who the Guardians of the Galaxy were until the movie. Who Speed Demon and female Beetle were until the figures came out.

Getting characters in different mediums gives them exposure. Doing BP specific characters in his toyline would be adding to that exposure. Most know who Blackbolt is, we all know who Namor is, I didn't know who Shuri was until someone mentioned that name last night. You say the line would not sell well if it featured all black heroes, but how do you know this? How do you know it won't be the opposite? There could be a character in the movie that the audience ends up loving so much they want a figure of him, but if one isn't available right then and there, the opportunity is lost and Hasbro will never regain those lost sales even if they released the character later. It's called a risk investment, and it is something that everyone is too afraid of these days because failure has suddenly become this peception of ultimate destruction. That if you fail, you are done.

And jumping off of Kain's point, do you realize how many people became fans of a character due to exposure from outside of the comic books? Just because they haven't read a Black Panther comic doesn't mean they can't be disappointed with the wave. That's just silly.

i never said "no one can be disappointed with the wave if they haven't read stand alone BP comics" i said that without knowing the succuss or pull the characters from the movies will have on fans why risk bringing them in figure form over figures that are already pretty much known, be real yea BP has bodyguards but whos to say all they do is appear and then die, who would want a figure of that char who is just a background char (ofc idk what the chars are or do just saying) pretty much like how the antman wave didnt make yellow jacket even tho he was the main villian and had a cool suit design (just using it as an example. and guardians only put the main cast seeing how they are a group and not a solo based hero like BP just basing off the title alone ofc.
