As if they owe you one.

I imagine that SDCC will probably answer that question.
I understand the sarcasm in as if they owe me an explanation, it would be nice if certain things are explained.
As a teacher i tell kids the worse things are never to ask questions. if we buy something we need to know the 5w s and h.

If people care, they ask questions, the worse answer from Hasbro that they can give is because we feel like not doing it.

Again, i loved DOFP, and just want someone at SDCC or who had access to Hasbro to ask questions on behalf of the fans, but important hard news type questions.

If you saw the post a page or two back I posted someone at ToyFair asked the Marvel Legends director at Hasbro why aren't we getting DOFP figures and he said "we never said we weren't" or something to that effect, so maybe they are just waiting to announce something at SDCC. Toy companies don't like to give out to much information all at one time. Maybe they just wanted to see how the movie did before they release any info? I bet we will get a answer at SDCC one way or another. Maybe this TRU/X-Men line is just a warm up. *Crossing fingers and hoping* That cancelled Rouge would be money in a DOFP line.

Nova and Rocket sold out on TRU.

Same as Amazon.

Nova & Rocket are definitely the ones scalpers are after.

If you want another source for Nova's PM me.

I know a few more that still have them but I think it's 1 per customer now.

I bought a bootleg Doop from the Series 6 Deadpool for 11 bucks. LOL

And got these from a local. Now I regret selling my Hydra Agents. But for every one that I cut from my collection...2 more shall take it's place.

Hail Hydra!

I'm still trying to find that von Strucker at a decent price, I have a feeling we'll see him in Cap Infinite 3 wave, but it won't be the same comic style version

I'm pretty sure there are a good number of non-scalpers probably picking up Nova and Rocket as well... it shouldn't be an automatic assumption that a particular figure is selling well only because scalpers are swooping on it.

I agree, and I also think that this may not be as popular a line with all ML buyers, but better to say the 'regular' buyers. Some collectors don't agree with movie versions etc, and won't buy these.

I hope scalper nation gets hit hard by this wave of figures, and maybe forces some of them to rethink 'their' hobby.

how does hasbro justify making an entire line of GotG figures, but none for X-Men: DOFP?

seriously though... you have Titan heroes, MU repacks in MI, 6" legends, 2.5" two packs, and spaceships all for a movie that is a huge gamble

That's a great point, GOTG over X men? Logic makes no sense on Hasbro s end.

Except that GotG is a Marvel studios production so they don't have to share with Fox.

I don't know about GOTG being all that risky of an investment. It's another Avengers tie in, it has all of the elements of another fairly popular franchise (Star Wars) that did pretty well in the toy market for about four decades! and as far as there relative obscurity, how popular was Iron Man to the general public before the first movie? or thor or Cap for that matter? A good movie goes a long way to establish a brand following.

I'm sure the movie will be great, and popular. Heck, it may even get some people to buy the ML, MI figs and some spaceships. However, the quality of the product will determine if collectors keep these, or turn them over after they build Groot.

I'm not discounting movie fans who also are movie figure fans, more power to them I say, and it would seem that there will be movie figures in most of the waves upcoming. Where I'm not personally a fan of most movie figs, there are some that fit and work well with any comic versions, like the new Black Widow for example.

What are the chances of getting a comic version of Gamora? Slim. So, I'll happily add her into the shelf space/ space shelf.

To your point Kylactus, Ironman, Cap, Hulk, Spidey etc, have had decades of fans, from comics, toys and movies, but the GotG crew haven't had the same longevity in the hearts and minds of toy buyers. The reason all the comic book movies are popular today is that they have been in theaters for the last 10 years or so, and this span of time has brought teenagers through 40-50 year olds to spend their money at the same time. They've found the guys(mostly), who have the 'disposable' income at the right time and they're going to take advantage of it. In a way, the height of comic book popularity, without having to read.

I hope this doesn't sound like I don't want GotG to do well at retail, far from it. The better the ML line sells, the more likely chance the line will be around for us to collect. I'm buying the set, and would buy variants if they exist(ed), but until they've been on store shelves for a few weeks/ months it will be hard to tell. Ebay will be the telltale sign I think, once collectors and new fans have had the figs in hand and decide whether or not they like them, or will the market be flooded with $7 movie Drax etc.

Peoples posts on this site which helped me to discover that the new ML GOTG wave was out...especially been wanting that Nova...so jumped on ebay ASAP and found one for about 40...not taking any chances...not getting fooled, again (Where in the heck are the AIM and Hydra figures?)...not going back and again to TRU, LCBS, Wal-Mart or Target hoping to find the figures that are short-packed...to many hoops for me to jump through as a collector.

Honestly I have rules about legends, I never go over $25 for legends. The exceptions being a BAF. $40 for a Nova is waaaayyyy....too much.

I agree on Aim and Hydra, where are they....super hard to get becasue of scalpers mostly. Again I have a price point that I stick to. I am okay but ain't that rich. If legends ever has a SRP of $25 that's it sorry Hasbro, and Marvel, I'll save up for the 3D printing device and one day when it's time I'll buy one.

But I will NEVER pay 40 for a figure. I still have no Crossbones(Made a custom), and a much as I love Legends, I love not being broke more.

Welcome to the Ark

I believe the Hydra and Aim soldiers are gone and put away so someone can either add to there collection or sell them like next year at a silly price just keep hunting on ebay etc one day you'll find at a reasonable price for you

I know what you mean about trying to find figures like the new Hydra goon, but I think Hasbro will figure this out and release more 2 packs one day, including AIM and other henchman types. That's just a 'gut' feeling

I think that the "henchmen" being hard to find is partly due to army builders, at least as much as scalpers.
