Only Target so far from what I’ve seen, but of the 6 Targets in my area that I’ve checked, only one of them has had them. Also, Legends seem to come in at irregular intervals around here. You won’t see any new ones for a few weeks, then 3 shipments a week, then hit or miss again with the shelves almost empty.
That’s even better! |

I don’t know if y’all have noticed with legends lately, NONE OF THEM ARE THAT RARE! They are overproduced as hell, if you even make a half ass attempt you will find your figures at retail. Now mind you if you want it a couple months early, by all means go to eBay and be one of the first to pay a 4-500% mark up, but lately every figure is eventually getting to almost every retailer in an over abundance. Between that and Walmart and target putting out random back stock ( the Walmart near me just put out a case of SM vulture wave, which they clearances out months ago, and targets everywhere were getting GOTG vol 1 figures right as vol2 were dropping.) there is no such thing as “rare” anymore. I’ve been following some of this phenomenon on eBay for a wile now. 2 months before the juggernaut wave officially dropped people were paying 200 for Deadpool, one months later between 60-80 now loose your looking at 17-19. There are not a lot of figures holding up on the aftermarket nowadays, I believe this is because of overproduction, and the fact that stuffs comeing at us so fast nothing is “new” for more than a week or so. Hell I saw a cable go for 120 last week, now they’re averaging 70ish in a week they’ll be going for half of that, watch!
I enjoy the hunt to some extent, but with irregular shipment and always having to rush into stores to get there before someone grabs them, it does get old. I’m really glad the next X-Men Wave has so many I want so I can just order a whole set. I’m thinking for some of the current individual ones I want it might be worth it paying a few dollars more, plus shipping to get them online, rather than spending all my time driving from store to store. yeah...RARE..no...hella popular...yeah.. like Nos said..there are def figures i have either NEVER seen at retail or seriously saw only once or twice. Cyclops - Never Colossus - Once Hela - once Ares - Never or once..i forget. Deadpool - Never on a shelf or peg Jessica Jones - though i've seen her several times..its' NEVER as much as the others from that wave. ..and oh yea that Space Venom BAF wave. i think i may have saw them ONCE in a store. and it's a given the EARLIER someone wants something and is willing to pay for it...it costs more. if you don't give a f*ck if it's up to a year later, of course you can find great discounts. me personally..normal retail is fine because I'm ALWAYS excited for new legends figs. i don't knock someone if they pay double or more to get a figure a month or two earlier..that's their business and their pockets... errbody get in where ya fit in... Side note: i've watch my second marvel movie in my marathon (which is going slower then anticipated) Blade: Grade A (Never realized Sanaa Lathan was Blade's mother) Incredible Hulk: Grade B (never realized Phil Dunphy was in it or Omar from the wire)

I agree, I would never judge someone negatively for paying extra to get one early that they really wanted. I definitely give credit to people who have the self control to wait for good deals. They are better than me haha. |

Oh, and the Abomination wave never hit stores in my area. Nor did the Walmart Winter Soldier and Falcon. The A-Force box set as yet to show up at my TRUs. Let's see, I only saw Green Goblin on the shelves once and never again afterwards. In fact, outside of Jackal and Spider UK, none of them sat around at all. I saw Bullseye twice for the Netflix wave. Hela and Ares disappeared right after Ragnarok hit theaters.

That's not entirely true. I never saw Deadpool more than once after I got him and only saw Wolverine twice in stores. Rogue and Iceman also disappeared after a month. For the Warlock series, Dazzler, Cyclops, and Colossus were never on the pegs again after I found them the first time. Polaris has also disappeared. Let's not even talk about the Dark Phoenix pack, which I never saw in stores.

Do you guys ever cancel orders after finding figures in stores? I feel like it would be a dick move, but it would be hard to pass up one in hand for an order that will show up who knows when.

When Spider-Gwen and Ghost Rider was out, I never once saw a GhostRider in the stores and I was looking. I've only seen Spider-Gwen once. I still have yet to see an entire Vulture wave. I have seen all of them except Moon Knight and Hobo Spider-Man. The only 2 figures I'm missing from the wave. The only time they hit the shelves were in the Spider-man advertisement that sits in the middle of the electronics isle. So, once that single set was sold no Wal-Mart got any others since or at least that I've seen. This goes for Black Panther as well. Same situation, only in the big card board ad outside of electronics. I have seen the Black Panther wave in TRU and target so it's been a lot easier to find then Vulture and I haven't talked to anyone that saw the Vulture wave in any Target or TRU around here until recently and those that find them only report back seeing 1 or 2 figures left by the time they get there. At any given time, any of the stores listed only get 1 case at a time. You either get to the store in the morning when they open or you miss out. If your lucky they end up getting in more months later but most of the time if you miss the first 2 shipments (1 case a piece) you miss out on getting it in a Brick and Mortar store around here. Being as we have a ton of cities in a close area, we also have tons of people, and tons of collectors to compete with. On top of this I know for a fact that at least 1 comic shop in the area goes from store to store every morning looking for the new hot stuff. Him and his kids (both 25+ years old and work for him) will shop separately and hit up all of the major stores on a daily basis and then sell those items for triple in their store. I prefer to buy my figures in store because I can't stand having to pay an extra $4-$7 per figure in shipping. It looks like I'm going to have to order online for Moon Knight and Hobo Spider-Man and just suck it up but the fact is, around here, as far as brick and mortar goes, there are tons of figures that are hard to get. So, Walmart’s in my area received their thanos, riders and infinity war waves this week.
I ran in to three sets of different resellers purchasing whole cases in my drive around town. It’s like everyone came out of the woodwork at the same time to bother the employees to grab these things from the back for them. Thankfully the third person was ever so kind to allow me to have one of his thanos from the case for myself when asked. The second guy gave me his store location and told me I could stop by the next day and grab what I needed from him...for $5 over retail. ![]() I am not someone who generally gets upset at the whole scalpers thing, but this weeki really tested my faith in humanity. My hunt continues... |

ha.. While i'm waiting for a wave on pre-order. If i find any of that wave a at a retail store. I simply purchase it with a credit card. And when that figure finally comes in the mail, return the figure to the store with the receipt. I'm an action figure addict and need the new figs asap!! All i did was purchase a product and return it in the same condition it was purchased in.. Now if another online vendor has them..and its 10 bucks or more cheaper. Once i confirm they have it and can ship it, I will cancel and order. ya slow, ya blow... like Don Juan said, it's nothing but business. oh those guys suck monkey nuts, but guess what...it will continue...

Grant it I live out in the sticks, so I don’t have a shit load of competition, but there are only 2 Walgreens and two Walmart’s in my immediate area, and one of those Walmart’s doesn’t carry legends sense the dr strange wave. Once or twice a month I’ll try to go towards Murfreesboro and Nashville, last time I went I found the dark Phoenix set at TRU, and saw literally every figure (including Aries) from the last three or four waves, and remnants going back to ant man and Odin. There are several figures like cyclops that I’ve only seen once, and I bought him, I’m not saying you’ll get everything on sale, or that every figure will surely hit the clearance isle, but I did find a MCU scarlet witch ( ya know the one everyone was paying 40$ for two weeks ago) at Walgreens on clearance, but now they’re putting out a better one anyway! The most I’ve payed for a legend lately was 40 on stryfe, the only reasons I did that were the fact I don’t see him getting a re release, he was out forever ago, he was an exclusive to a chain that’ll be an empty building, then a hobby lobby by next year, and he’s one of my favorites.

I live in an very big area, in Virginia. There are 7 cities all next to each other. I live next to 2 different cities and have 4 Wal-Marts and 3 Targets right "next" to me as well as 2 TRU. The Wal-Marts have been empty since about Christmas. They got in several cases of Thor and haven't had anything more than a case at a time since then. If you want a figure from those cases, you have to be there when they unpack them around midnight or you will end up missing the "HOT" figures.

I’m so pissed with Walmart right now. Several in my area show that they have the Thanos in stock, but I went to a couple and there are none on the shelves. None have a full case so someone is getting them, but when I ask the people who work at the stores no one wants to help and just says if it’s not on the shelf then they don’t have them. BS |

Well if Brickseek is to be trusted, it looks like my Walmart might have gotten all of these in as well. Going to have to go check out the validity of it tomorrow. Fingers crossed!
Also need to check my local Walgreen's for the rest of the Lizard wave for 12.99, before the deal runs out!! Brickseek should be correct, however depending on when your Walmart has scheduled their shelf resets they may not be able to get to them in the back room...or care to even try. Honestly most Walmart’s are pretty horrible at assisting in back room pick ups. Most employees don’t give a rats ass about helping if means extra work for themselves beyond their normal duties. The 24hour ones are usually the only ones who are willing since they tend to move more merch around. always having a stocking staff on hand means their back storage is usually a little better arranged and someone present who will know how to get to things. |

I got Thanos! I was about to have a coronary when I checked my local Walmart again this morning, figuring they must have been in one of the boxes on the floor that weren’t put on the shelves yet, but still didn’t see any. I asked the guy who worked there and he said they aren’t being released until March 3rd. I told him that was nonsense because people are buying them, including from the store we were in. He refused to budge on it though. I was feeling pretty frustrated, but decided to take the drive out to a Walmart I never go to due to the distance, and they had 4 on the shelves! Very happy right now.

Wow, according to Brickseat, not a single store near for Walmart has any of the Lizard wave, have any of the Sasquatch way (in fact, it's not even registering this wave as even being in their system yet), neither biker, and the only store to have gotten in Thanos is one that is 90 minutes away.
As for Target, it don't tell me what the quantity on hand is now, so I can't tell if they actually have gotten in new figures or not. At least for Spider-Man. No Target has any of the Deadpool wave.
