Oh damn I definitely need all of the MCU ones(And prob comic Bucky) Especially Nat and taskmaster. Red guardian is awesome but a little confusing on to why he doesn’t come with a Helmeted head? But overall a pretty awesome wave. Isn’t there a rumor or something about them having a exclusive fig? Hopefully it’s white suit widow.

Thankfully there isn't a single figure in the BW wave I need to get, so that's good for me.

The movie tanked because it was just bad to begin with. It also doesn't help that it was a sequel to the first film, which had some of the worst casting in the history of the live action franchise. Even The Next Mutation had better actors in it and that show was a travesty.

Power Rangers tanked.
That tanked because the trailers made it look like some grim dark teen angst drama like the Zack Snyder DC movies. Nobody wanted to see that. Nearly everyone who went with us to see the film was surprised it actually ended up being fun and entertaining rather than brooding. Not to mention they actually had character development.

Into the Spider-Verse.

Also, Dredd wasn't cheesy and that still failed in theaters. It's like poor marketing of a film can ruin it. Imagine that.

Nevertheless, I'm sick and tired of boring looking super villains. Give me some damn costumes or don't do those characters at all!

BTW, Taskmaster looks like a Cobra Ranger Viper.

I just see an easy custom Alpha Flight Box II when I see that version of Crimson Dynamo.

I'm probably going to use the Endgame Black Widow head and put it on this new body. I like the face on that figure much better but I love her new suit.

The face printing on those MCU figures looks REALLY bad. Almost as bad as the original GoTG wave MCU figs when they were still painting them. Usually the promo shots look like **** anyways, so hopefully there is some time those get cleaned up. Otherwise...woof.

On the other hand...I wonder how well the comic Red Guardian head would work on that MCU version. Not a fan of most of the comic figures here as I have their previous versions, but I'll be grabbing the updates...especially since it will be nice to finally have a Crossbones capable of holding a weapon...even if they gave him those weird laser pistols...

It might be "bad" but it's the best TMNT movie since the 1990 movie. A lot of people I know who hate the first film LOVED the 2nd. The hit the cheesiness of the 80's cartoon. A lot of non-fan people commented on passing because it looked cheesy and stupid.

I never watched it coz I don't care about MMPR, but I remember a LOT flack was given to it for being cheesier than the tv show, which says a lot.

Spider-Verse wasn't cheesy, and was definitely NOT cartoon/comics accurate. Green Goblin the Dragon? It's definitely the closest to Pixar a non-Pixar film has ever gotten.

Dredd was so cheesy it could have been made by Kraft. I love the movie. It's beyond Star Wars in it's cheesiness. Silly dialog, clichés EVERYWHERE...

Personally, I think Marvel has made EXCELLENT choices for villains character costumes. Loki was a PERFECT blend of comics and a realistic look. Ultron was great. Mandarin LOOKED great, but the story failed on that one, etc. Glad I didn't have to suffer with Klaw in tights, monkey suits, Zola the walking microwave, Malekith the Rainbow wearer, etc. Can't wait to see the MCU version of Dr. Doom. I know he won't look like 15th century armor.

Don't even joke about them changing Doom's look. That's the one character that needs to be done as close to comic source as possible.

Not bad on the widow wave. Red guardian shoulda come with a masked head as well. Guess we know what hoppers new role is.

I feel like Disney KNOWS they can't afford to eff with Doom's look, his armor is part of the character, and with how his last two movie looks were received, they can't afford to experiment haha. (Full disclosure, I didn't hate the 2005 Doom look!)

I wasn't joking. I'm expecting a modernized armor suit, similar to an Ironman suit, worthy of Victor Von Doom, rather than welded, 1960's era comics Doom.

I figure Marvel will intro Doom and Reed as genius replacements for Stark. Stark tech is everywhere now, so Doom can have armor that doesn't look like he stole it from the Tower of London.

The official pics for IW wave 2 made Black Widow and Thor look like crap and upon release they were some of the best faces Hasbro pulled off at the time. Hasbro has shown us multiple times not to judge these figures until they're actually out.

I'm definitely inclined to pick up BW, I really dig her new suit and her accessories are pretty nice. Taskmaster's toy looks better than he did in the trailer, I might get him just for being a neat figure. Seeing Tasky better thanks to the toy is giving me real strong Arkham Origins Deathstroke vibes.

I really wish hasbro would stop releasing figures w/o baf pieces. It just seems superfluous to charge 20 without a baf piece.

Obviously Hasbro disagrees. Exclusive Legends don't have BAF pieces and are still $20 and Hasbro's other 6" collector-aimed lines (Star Wars, Overwatch, and Power Rangers) don't even have BAFs. $20 just is the current average price for these 6" non-import figures, looking at Mattel and McFarlane as well.

I find it a bit interesting that Taskmaster is the double-pack instead of Black Widow. Usually Hasbro tends to double-pack the title character of a wave.

I just mean if its in a BAF wave it should have a baf part.

En Sabah Nerd ! I correct you, Hasbro over here in the UK gave us a wave of previously released figures in a different packaging but with no BAF piece which we're priced at £15, which gave you a figure and basic accessories i.e swappable head or hands. where as a stand ML with a BAF piece varies from £19.99-£25.00 varying on the figure; or how many accessories a character comes with i.e deadpool from that juggernaut wave and most recently task master

here is an example of what one would look like

That's concerning because I remember this question being on a Hasbro survey that was put out a couple of years ago. They even asked how we would feel if MCU figures returned to character likenesses similar to the first GotG wave.

As for the BW wave:

Black Widow looks okay. As was mentioned earlier, the face printing doesn't look particularly detailed.

Yelena is meh due to a combination of bland design and not the most accurate face printing.

Red Guardian looks good. Like others have said, he should've come with a masked head.

Taskmaster is the winner out of the wave. The colors of his costume pop a lot more than they do on screen.

Winter Soldier may be a pass for me. I prefer the MCU version. Although, I may pick up the previous version comic Winter Soldier. That one has a more retro look that I kinda liked.

Only way I'd get Spymaster is if I have strong enough desire to build Crimson Dynamo.

I'm torn on Crossbones. I hate the body of the original one but I'm not feeling the design of the new one. I wish we could've gotten the more tactical look of the old one on this body.

Also, torn on Crimson Dynamo. I'm a sucker for mech suits but I'm not feeling this one. I think it's because I'm recognizing the Iron Monger parts.

The wave looks alright. No one is really moving the needle for me, except perhaps Red Guardian and Taskmaster. The face sculpts do look really soft, hoping they are better in person. If the finished figures look like that, I’ll be a lot less inclined to purchase them. Overall, no one is compelling me to buy them now, I’ll chance that Target will clearance them as hard as the Captain Marvel figures, or any other Legends with a unique product code.

I'm betting that the figure is based more on concept art than finished character design

Green Goblin in Spider-Verse was a mix of classic (616) and Ultimate (1610) Green Goblins. The wings were new iirc, but honestly they were kind of a logical extension of what that combination was going for.

Also, I believe Dr. Kain was referring to the 2012 Dredd movie with Karl Urban, not the 90s one with Stallone.

I'm assuming Hasbro wants to avoid another MCU Mysterio situation. He's probably one of the most anticipated aspects of the movie, so I could imagine him being extremely difficult to find at retail.

I was trying to come up with a list of X-Men characters that still need to be done or redone, and it got out of hand, not even counting alternate costumes for characters they've already gotten to, except Wolfsbane since the Dani alt head really seems like a cop out. I'm sure there are characters I missed since I go through long periods where I don't really read new comics

X-Men:
Longshot
Sage
Banshee
Thunderbird
Marrow
Dr. Reyes
Maggot
Thunderbird III
Lifeguard
Slipstream
Armor
Omega Sentinel
Danger
Hellion
Elixir
Jimmy Hudson

X-Factor:
Wolfsbane
Random
Shard
Val Cooper

X-Force:
Siryn
Rictor
Feral

Excalibur:
Meggan
Rachel
Widget
Cerise
Daytripper
Kylun
Feron
Pete Wisdom
Micromax

Generation X
Chamber
Husk
Monet
Skin
Synch
Mondo
Penance

Exiles:
Nocturne
Mimic
Sunfire

New Mutants:
Magma
Cypher

And so many villains. They've done so many Spidey and Avengers villains but it really seems like they've been neglecting X-villains, all but 5 of them have been BaFs

You're throwing some salt in a fresh wound bringing up Mysterio. He popped up on Amazon for $19.99 last Friday. I decided to wait until I had some free time to order him. Couple of hours later and he's back up to $30+.
