Don't need anyone to agree because I know this won't be popular but I actually have wanted Shia LaBeouf to play Moon Knight. It's just one of those weird clicks in your head for me.

I was actually gonna say the same thing. I think he'd be a strong choice, that actual cannibal.

It's funny, when Ian Somerhadler was mentioned I Googled him because I didn't (still don't) know who he was and cycled through images. I thought of Charlie Hunnam, Googled him, even though I know who he is, to see if he had the look of my mind's eye Moon Knight - he could work. One search lead to another, with me deciding to look up Marc Spector, which, lo' and behold, generated a side by side image of Shia LaBeouf and Moon Knight...

This was a protracted way to say, apparently, there are people that agree with you both. I think he has the acting chops to do it, based on his recent reading of Fast Times. He also has range; I liked American Honey. Additionally, he has a reservoir of emotional and personality issues that he could draw upon. However, I personally think he's far too runty to pull of Moon Knight...but camera tricks, platforms, shoe inserts, and surrounding him other smaller men could work.

Given the allegations today I'm not expecting Shia to get cast in anything big anytime soon...

Yeah, I saw that also. See: "Additionally, he has a reservoir of emotional and personality issues that he could draw upon."

I guess Charlie Hunnam it is...

Yeah, that's part of the appeal. I don't really follow celebrity news very closely, though, so I didn't realize the extent.

Oscar Isaac is the last person to be mentioned in relation to casting, but nothing has been confirmed

With Oscar Isaac now officially being announced as Solid Snake for the long rumored Metal Gear movie...he might be to busy to commit.

After the Amber Heard thing AND the Jussie Smollett thing I've learned to wait til actual evidence comes out before making a judgement. I'd rather wait than jump on a bandwagon amd be wrong, and to judge a person based on hearsay is wildly irresponsible. (Granted I haven't looked into the Shia case yet, there could be mountains of evidence haha)

Amber Heard is nothing but a trashy whore!! WB will fire people over a pointless tweet they made, but if they physically assault someone, it's perfectly okay, which is hypocritical bullshit. I hope that worthless bitch gets hit by a truck!

Actually, this is a wildly irresponsible position. The following things are true: 1) false allegations of sexual assault or domestic abuse are almost non-existent; 2) these crimes are very often not reported out of shame and/or fear; 3) when they are reported, they invariably result in threats, skepticism, and unwanted attention for the accuser (which is why false allegations are so rare, and among the reasons the crimes often go unreported); and 4) not believing accusers, or "waiting for evidence", is life-ruiningly damaging to many of them, whereas the accused usually bounce back pretty quickly from false allegations, and in fact from true but unprosecuted (or even just unconvicted) allegations. Inevitably, the phrase "innocent until proven guilty" comes up during these discussions, so let me just cut you off at the pass, and remind you that's a legal principle, not a social one. It's the responsibility of police, prosecutors, and judges to trust but verify. It's the responsibility of everyone else to believe and support accusers during a time of their lives where every path forward appears to lead to shame and violence, without making demands (like calls for proof) of them. Any other response just perpetuates hostility toward survivors of this poisonous cultural shortcoming.

Let's talk about your examples. Johnny Depp's defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard was thrown out last month because evidence of 12 or her 14 abuse allegations was conclusive enough to satisfy civil proceedings. She may have walked back her allegations a little, no doubt under extreme public and private pressure to do so, in order to finalize her divorce, but according to the most recent court findings, her allegations are credible, even though she and Depp seem intent to settle this through civil courts. For what it's worth, she also donated her divorce settlement money to the ACLU. Jussie Smollett is a different matter. I have no idea why he falsefied that attack, and a hate crime is obviously a very different matter than that of sexual assault or domestic abuse, but look at how that went for him. It went a lot worse than Heard's legally-affirmed allegations so far seem to have gone for Depp. And, I know you said you haven't looked into the allegations of Shia Labeouf, but he did nebulously confess and apologize, only to walk it back a bit, for what any of that's worth.

Case in point. If her allegations are false, they're going soooo well for her.

My opinion 2-3 years ago was overwhelmingly in favor of Tom Hardy. However, he's Venom now and that ship has sailed. I was actually disappointed for my Moon Knight hopes when Tom was cast in the Venom role. I felt Marvel Studios casting missed out on that one given that Hardy apparently did have a taste for the super-genre. So much of life is about timing.

While I understand why you mentioned Heard (while also not entirely agreeing with the implied sentiment), the Smollett portion seems a bit out of place and a little forced. That said, Shia, in this most recent scenario, is facing more accusers than just his current ex regarding abusive behavior charges. Even before whatever is about to be brought into the light concerning these recent allegations, Shia has demonstrated a few different personality traits and public outbursts that indicate he's struggling with demons. I obviously enjoy some of the dude's work, but one doesn't need to be a clinician to acknowledge that he needs help. So does Johnny, and, apparently, Jussie...

...lol I see a cameo being made by my copy of the Mahabharata in that last photo and another book I cannot place at the moment...probably time to take new pics.

Edit: What Benn Roe said...I'm in full agreement...not that what I think matters..

I respect your stance, and I don't wish to derail the thread and rile up the mods so I'm not gonna type up a rebuttal, but I have to disagree about the fact that the accused bounce back quickly, and that the false accusations are non-existent (I've seen many percentages thrown around, but given I can list 10 actual examples off the top of my head, I feel I can safely assume there's a non-inconsequential amount.) A discussion for a different thread though, and I appreciate the civil discussion!

He can do crazy. And i say him because when i first got into moon knight, during atlantis attacks, he wasn’t batshit crazy and had a ladies man look going on.
