Looks like some pics of the prototype Guardians of the Galaxy 5 pack got out. Source claims it will be a Entertainment Earth Exclusive. Possibly at $120. Looks like new Rocket and Groot heads. Drax and Gamora look as expected. Gamora looks to be a Moonstone/Satana repaint and Star Lord looks like a straight repack of the SDCC Thanos Imperative figure.

Awesome news we finally have some info on the comic series five pack of the Guardians Of The Galaxy figures. Well the price isn't that awesome, but these are looking pretty good.

We have gotten word from a pretty good authority that Hasbro will be releasing a comic book based 6" Marvel Legends Infinite Series Guardians of the Galaxy 5-pack this coming August. We don't have official word from Hasbro yet but from what we have learned from other sources, this set will be sold as a Entertainment Earth exclusive. At SDCC last year Hasbro said this set would include figures of Star-Lord, which is a re-release of last years SDCC exclusive version, as well as a classic Gamora, Groot, Rocket Raccoon and Drax on their bigger sculpted body, IE Hyperion body. We also have learned the set will include a special Baby Groot figure. The cost for this set will be $120.

What is not exactly clear is whether the set will be sold anywhere besides Entertainment Earth's own website. They are actually an authorized wholesaler for Hasbro so it's possible anyone with a wholesale account with them could sell this set. Entertainment Earth and Toys R' Us have also been known to work together from time to time so its also a possibility they could end up there as well.

Pre-orders for the set are expected to begin in 2 weeks so we should defiantly know more by then. While no official images for the set have been released, these shown below began circulating the web and various Facebook group pages today. We don't know where it originated from or who to exactly credit for it, but hopefully we will get better looks for you soon.

It looks like for Drax they are using the lower body from the movie figure, the Hyperion torso, and the head from Radioactive Man.

Awesome news, indeed! I was hoping for a Groot in costume and I would have preferred the old Drax head, but I'll be getting the set in spite of any minor druthers. About Drax, looks like they retooled movie Drax's legs along with the other observations you made.

Yeah I would have liked a larger in costume Groot more as well. I'm the same way and think that the old Drax head looks pretty much perfect I really wish that they could have used it instead.

Eh. The price isn't bad, you had to spend that much just to build movie Groot through retail.

Bikini Gamora pretty much kills the entire set for me. Its a stupid outfit.

Gamora was the only one I was curious to see what they would go with for her look. It makes a great deal of sense though since she's only even had like three looks and only one could match the rest of the set.

It's such a shame that Gamora is a repainted Satana, with even the same head and hair sculpt. Seriously Hasbro, it wouldn't have hurt to give her different hair, even. Ah well, guess it's too much to ask for variation in female characters.

Our collections will begin to look like Greg Land art, copy and pasted women everywhere!

Y'know, I was going to ask you if that Drax in your pics was a custom. Great collection by the way, I think you and I have almost all of the same figs in common (DCU as well)...with the exception of your most excellent customs. I like the way you (and others) make subtle tweaks to figs. Drax's former fig only really had problems in the torso area...is that a WCW fig torso? Honestly, I'd rather buy your custom as a part of the box set!

Edit: I see you may have swapped the biceps also...

I am excited and disappointed at the same time. I was really hoping the GotG set would have members other than those five so that I could flesh out my team some. Even so, I know I will end up getting it...although $120 is a bit high.

Also, the guardians set is a must get, but 120$ for basically 4 repacks is kind of salty

Thanks Great minds collect alike. The main core body is a WWE elite Ultimate Warrior figure. The parts that I used from the original Drax figure are the forearms, hands, belt, lower legs, feet, and head.

Wow, that looks great! That Ms Marvel body really is a nice buck for customs. Did you switch out the right hand? It looks like it is either for a gun or to hold a sword. If so, I am curious what you used. A custom I am thinking of for that body needs a sword holding hand.
