I'm considering branching out into the DC Collectibles to make fodder for Marvel Legends characters, perhaps some of them revamped designs and some for custom painting. I already have a couple on order just to get a feel for the articulation and size comparison (Black Adam and Pandora..not sure who either are but I saw on amazon and had some ideas for characters to cobble together.)

Any suggested figures or helpful hints? Are their limbs or heads removable?

I've never had any trouble with ball joints but the pins are a little trickier. The pins on the Capullo Batman didn't want to push out so I just pulled the outside pieces of the elbow hinge off of the pin and then pushed them back onto the pin when I was finished working. Just be careful with the joints since they like to use clear plastic for pins, hinges and ball joints. The only body I've taken apart is the History of the DC Universe Batman and his body was completely solid inside so it couldn't be split like most ML and DCUC figures. I just warmed it up with a hair dryer and carefully sliced with an Exacto knife. I'm not sure if Black Adam and Pandora will be the same as that Batman but its always possible. If I wasn't very clear about the elbow joint on Batman let me know and I'll post some pics.

Thanks, jwyss234. I think I follow you. I should be getting these two next week and I'll try some trial and error. Obviously I didn't want to go too deep with this before testing the waters. I'm thinking Pandora looks a lot like Blink and I might can use her as is or with slight mods, and Black Adam I think repainted or cobbled with something might present a decent Count Nefaria or Graviton. We'll see.....

Ah ok thanks for the info. Yup I'm so glad I was able to score one on HTS....

Haha I've seen him around as well.

Has anyone join this? https://www.collectorcorps.com/
It's like that other company that does it, I forgot the name. Seems cool...

Well this sucks. My Dr Strange is supposed to come today. Is currently on the UPS truck for delivery, which drove right past my apartment. -_- He hit up every other apartment but mine.

Dang you should have gone after him!! Glad I changed one of my orders to be held at a Fedex location close to home, cause I forgot to leave a note on my door for the other one :P Going to pick it up after work today.

IMO, the best DC bodies to work with are the DC Collectibles Crime Syndicate Super Villains figures. They fit better with Legends scale figures than the other DCC/DCD lines and have Legends level articulation. They are basically boil/pop construction throughout too, which makes them super easy to work with (I think the pins cause issues primarily to being painted over, but they eventually pop out too). Only real issue with them is the sanding/sculpting needed to remove their details and symbols, etc. I used the Crime Syndicate figures to make Legends scale DC customs, and they worked very well; however, since the Grim Reaper body was introduced in the Ant-Man legends wave, Hasbro has filled the mid-build body type that the DCC figures were ideal for.

Or wait for the new DC icons line coming out next year ;D their on par with detail and articulation with marvel legends,
EDIT: wait you trying to make Marvel characters? then my idea went out the window thought you were going to make Dc characters using ML figures

Man, I was SO excited for the coming DC Icons line... but the midsection ab setup they went with really killed those figures for me (along with no thigh swivel on any of the figures). Those pretty glaring negatives make me still regard the DCC Crime Syndicate figures as being the better line between the two (from a construction/potential fodder standpoint).

I'm glad I gave them a call. It turns out they forgot to actually put him on the truck so they sent a guy from the facility to my apartment with it (as it is only 3-5 minutes away).

Doctor Strange - Awesome figure but seriously, what the hell is up with the lack of any extra hands? He really could have used some. In fact, I would've traded in the circles for alternate hands if it came down to it. Joints are pretty tight aside from the right hand.

And here is a look at my Marvel collection:

So I'm kind pissed right now with Vision and Dr Strange. Those god damned pieces to the Hulkbuster now make me want the friggin thing. I just can not believe how big the two pieces I have are.

Picked up Widow from a Books-A-Million. I'd recommend checking them out when looking for Legends.

Shhhhhh, don't give away the secret! They're a tiny bit pricier at BAM at $25 before tax but they always have the good stuff. Thought about getting one of the Hydra Soldiers they have when I was there today.

If you're a Millionaire Card member, they are cheaper! Widow was $22.49 before tax.

Yes, I have done the first 2 boxes. The big selling point is the exclusive POP from Funko in each box. They are only made for this and not sold elsewhere. Box 1 was the Movie Hulkbuster, Box 2 was Unmasked movie Ant Man w/ miniature Ant man pop included. SO far the POP has pretty much matched the picture they advertise on the box artwork. So for the box this month people are guessing the POP will be Female Thor (rumors have also been heard there may be 2 exclusive Pops this month) The theme this month is Secret Wars. So far each box has included a EXCLUSIVE POP, Shirt, Miniature of some sort, an exclusive cover to a comic, and a couple lapel pins.

Just a quick head swap and arm change. Going to remove Ravenger flame logo, paint the neck, sculpt a little bit above the elbow so it looks like a rolled up sleeve.

My mini Ant-Man shipment arrived today. Picked it up from my UPS box on my way to work. I will post up pics after I get home tonight.

Regarding the shipping time, FedEx is handing the boxes off to the USPS to deliver. My expected time got pushed to Monday and probably would have been the case if I got packages at my apartment and not my UPS Store box. USPS will account for a delay to any residential deliveries I'm sure.

Guess that's what we get for ordering one item at a time to make sure we actually got stuff....
