As far this new wave concerns, i probably won't buy the case as i've done with the spidey waves, however i will end up jumping on a few of them.

And these characters as well as blade and prowler are the reason i get pissed at marvel for not utilizing them..... some fans think it's better to alter the big names as opposed to just using some of their characters in their big shelf of ideas.

The new wave is great because I already have SDCC Giant Man, so there is no reason for me to get the whole thing. Black Panther is the only figure I will be getting for sure. I might get Iron Man depending on his accessories and I might get Fury. Other than that, the rest of not worthy of my money.
Sad that there is no Falcon. WTF Hasbro? Where's a brotha?

Yeah, it's sort of a big deal given that Ta-Nehisi Coates is writing the book. An important distinction because he's an African American journalist/social and political thinker of some renown. I've been following him for a couple of years now (community talk radio, the Atlantic Magazine/website, and his televised news pieces) and was flabbergasted to learn that he was writing for Black Panther. As it turns out, Coates has been a big comic book fan since his youth. The only druthers I have with the scenario is that I'd rather him write for Blue Marvel given that the character is African American, like Coates. My reason for feeling this way is that, with Blue Marvel, Coates could draw directly from his youth growing up in Baltimore for some really poignant urban American stories. Obviously, there's a shared lineage between Africans and African Americans, but there are also very important distinctions both historically and within the modern context. All that said, I'm greatly looking forward to Black Panther and Coates run as a writer for Marvel...

Conceptualizing the Black Panther - The Atlantic I'm not a giant Ant Man fan, so as BAFs go this new leaked one isn't a big draw for me. I might have got it if the characters had been more to my liking but I don't need another cap, and while Iron Man is nice the only must-have is Black Panther. The apparent second series with Crossbones, Tigra (hopefully with a less pornesque costume) and Scarlet Witch sounds more interesting.

I wanted to share what I'm working on now. This is the beginnings of a custom Sauron. His wings aren't attached yet, but I'll get there. I'm not the best sculptor ever, but I'm trying to improve.

Today's eBay arrival...and he's definitely in need of more cowbell....
Came the last night of sadness And it was clear she couldn't go on Then the door was open and the wind appeared The candles blew and then disappeared The curtains flew and then he appeared (Saying, "Don't be afraid") Come on baby (And she had no fear) And she ran to him (Then they started to fly) They looked backward and said goodbye (She had become like they are) She had taken his hand (She had become like they are) Come on baby (Don't fear the reaper) ![]() |
