To me the evidence on screen highly contradicts him being human because his head got busted open and it doesn't seem to bother him. I'm no physician but that wound looked like it would have been fatal and he was still way too well composed to be someone who's about to die. Eh, his condition is completely irrelevant anyway.

His ear and a lot of skin were hanging off in that shot, so I'm going with Android. The Company sent him to be a "friendly face" to get their hands on the Queen.

jestermon 01-17-2016 07:21 PM

He could have always replaced parts of him slowly over the years with android parts.

I had forgot what happened after they came in though it's been a while.

deathofthelines 01-17-2016 07:38 PM

I always assumed he was an android. This is furthered by the fact that weyland was in AVP as a sick human. Plus the knock upside his head and no reaction??? No way that he's a regular old human there.

It could have been a clone based on him too if it was supposed to be a human in Alien3.

I know right!

An interesting theory. There aren't any other cyborgs in the sense of man combined with machine throughout the movies but it makes sense for the big evil company to keep one of their top people alive as long as possible.

Detailed Look at the Alien 3 Weyland Yutani Commando by NECA - The Toyark - News

I remember being fascinated by these guys...pausing my VHS tape; struggling to get a better look at them. Nice to see the design in the third dimension, but turns out they were kinda uninspired. These will probably peg warm; might grab one on discount.

QuasiMort 02-19-2016 04:39 PM

Been waiting forever for a 1/4 scale Dog Alien from Alien III. Glad to see NECA's attention is on this film now. Got my fingers crossed!!

I don't want to get hopes too high but on Twitter Randy said a 1/4 Dog Alien is an option for next year.

While the general agreement is that Alien 3 sucked I find the Dog Alien to be a very cool design. It's interesting to know that Giger himself wanted something so different for that film but the studio held firm that they just wanted a slightly different version of what we'd already gotten.

More interested in the grey dog, personally, but I'm still liable to buy two of these apparently cold chaps ;)

New Official Alien Series 8 Photos by NECA - The Toyark - News

Glad to see the elbows on the Commando get a nice 90 degree bend...the early pics had me worried. I might have to pick at least one of them up, even though I just can't stop seeing the anti-dog bite suit, lol.

beckmen 05-27-2016 02:00 PM

Pre-ordered the whole wave. On the fence as to whether I will keep them all or sell off one of the aliens and the commando. Mainly, I want the brown dog alien and Ripley is tempting. I missed my chance to snag the Aliens version of her and regret it.

suchaname 05-27-2016 03:41 PM

I've pre-ordered the whole wave with the intention of buying another commando and then having to decide what to do with the brown dog alien as I actually have at least three of them already! (they're still quite easy to pick up in the UK).

Tokyomeltdown 05-28-2016 04:52 PM

Was looking foward to these, but the SDCC Turtles fiasco has me so bitter that I can't bring myself to care about NECA's products at this time.

Irrespective of who's to blame for the SDCC arrangement, NECA should've considered their customers first, this dick move will shaft thousands of collectors that have eagerly awaited exactly such a release.

I rarely bat an eyelid when stuff like this happens, but I just can't get over this one.

Wow, you came here to complain about that SDCC stuff? Okay sure it sucks and what not but here's not the place for it, if Hasbro revealed some SDCC exclusive that I really wanted but couldn't get I wouldn't go post about it in the comments on a story for a new wave of Marvel Legends figures. Don't let your anger over the SDCC stuff seriously block you from getting other NECA stuff you might want because then that stuff could become hard to get after you rage-skip it and then you'll be angry at yourself for missing out on that.

I can see both sides of that argument, cos I too thought 'Maybe I should just quit now, they know they're messing the fans about' (it's hard to explain just how annoying I've found these SDCC exclusives to be), but also 'look at all the cool shit!'.

They're looking at bringing Newt to the shelves no matter what, they've known for a long time how badly fans wanted NECA Turtles after their own reveal, and Stealth Scar could easily and should have been a retail release. It's not like they aren't getting the most out of that buck anyway.

By all means tell people up front there will be two versions of Newt or that it's only an exclusivity window, whatever gets you through. The Turtles, at the very least, it should have been made clear from the start that these were only ever gonna be Con exclusives with no chance of later versions. And they know damn well how cool that Scar figure looks lol.

Is the brown dog alien a straight re-release?

I believe so yes.

Yep, the original dog alien was extremely demanded so they're re-releasing it for those that missed out on series 3. It is a highlight of the series mainly because it is one beautiful looking figure.

Threat 06-16-2016 09:01 PM

So I guess they opted out on the Molten Dog Alien they teased about possibly being a part of this wave.
