Can somebody clear this up (Rogue/Domino)
 

Okay so sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place, but this question has been bugging me for quite some time.

Okay so I know the Domino is a Hasbro release and uses the X-Treme Rogue body. Now I thought the Rogue was a Toy Biz release, and if so, how was Hasbro able to use it for the Domino and sell it?

This might be a dumb question, and if it is I apologize.

when hasbro got the contract for marvel from toybiz they also got the rights to the molds. if u look at the hasbro legends (crossbones, piledriver, thunderball & warpath) they all use the body mold from the toybiz young avengers box set hulkling. they have been doing it for awhile but im guessing since its all under "marvel" then they can re-use old molds

I love that Domino...anybody know where I can get her for a decent price? The two pack is like 60 bucks on amazon, which is ridiculous.

The mold are owned by Marvel due to licensing, so whoever has the license can use whatever still exists or is usable.

i reckon they have all molds avaiable to them , i just think they want to change them or improve detail and i argee on what people said earlier

No they don't. They're owned by the company that made the mold. The company would then be free to use that mold in any other toy line. Think about it. Hasbro uses molds between GI Joe, Star Wars, and Marvel all the time. The new Prof X figure is a Destro figure from the GI Joe movie line. Not to mention a mold isn't a complete figure. It's parts of a figure. How would you argue that this generic torso or thigh is totally one of your characters and not anybody else?


The reason Hasbro can use Toy Biz molds is, as said, because when Toy Biz went bankrupt, Hasbro bought the molds from them so they could continue the Legends line with as little disruption as possible. Obviously, that didn't quite work out.

Most likely not, I grabbed mine off of Ebay, and yes only reason I bought it for Domino, now if they make a 3.75 than that one's gone.

I just bought it of eBay, I ended up getting her for 29 with shipping.
