Figure Basics with Boba Fettuccini

I'm no master of the craft, but I know enough of the basics to pass along so that you can get started.

I recorded/edited a video of the tools and stuff today, and I'm just now starting one on dismantling figures.

EPISODE 1 - TOOLS ETC
Figure Basics with Boba Fettuccini Episode 1 - YouTube

EPISODE 2 - DISMANTLING
Figure Basics with Boba Fettuccini Episode II - YouTube

This is the first time I've done anything like this, so I hope you guys enjoy and benefit, or know someone who will.

If there's anything specific you want me to do a video about, let me know. If it's something I don't know about, then I'll learn how and THEN do a video, assuming it's not too expensive (I will not be doing part casting and fabrication and whatnot).

I watched your video all the way through, which says a lot, considering my attention span :).

I think things like this will be really helpful for people starting to customize, or even folks like me that dabble but are always looking for new tips. Thanks!

I'm curious (for future tutorials) if you use any kind of seal once you're done painting your figures. I've tried, but they just left the figures sticky and gross, so I'm sure I'm using the wrong stuff.

I've done some with clearcoat, some with a dullcoat, some with modpodge, and I'm heading to the hobby shop to pick up some krylon spray-on sealant to see if I like that more.

Episode II is now live.

Next video, we're going to do some washes and dry-brushing to an IM Mk V armor, and start kitbashing an original character.

I have the gloss krylon sealent. Never used it on a figure but what it has been used on it works great! Is that what is going to stop the joint paint rub? And how were you going to use the sealer without the joints getting sealed in place?

Anyway those videos were good! You really explain your ideas and tips well!
What happened to your finger sounds nasty, someone I know had that happen and they said for a moment they could see the white of the bone.

Can hardly wait for the next video, the Mark V dry bushing sounds like something that would look nice!

Next video should come later this week. I had some rather epic fail camera problems and the next video's files all corrupted. So I'm gonna have to re-shoot them.

Love these, Boba. Thanks and keep it up!

I hope part 3 is soon! :D

I've never tried nor do I have plans to try and customize figures, but I watched both your videos so far and they really piqued my interest. One of these days, I may actually try. Will that day be soon? Probably not, but maybe one day... lol

These videos are exactly what I was looking for! Thanks and can't wait to see future vids!
