Green Lantern Barbara Gordon by Dravenheart
 

The DC 3 3/4" Appreciation Thread made me realize how little I had done in the way of DC customs. I simply needed more appreciation. So, I was inspired to start searching. Back in 2000, DC published this two part comic called JLA: Created Equal. I haven't read it, but it sounds interesting. I actually found this character while doing a search for various Green Lanterns. Looking for one of interest to make. She was chosen in the comic to be the last Green Lantern, and I figured it was a cool place to start, since Barbara Gordon is one of my favorites.

As soon as I saw the picture I knew immediately what I needed to do. I took a Mystique and began the repaint. The hardest part of which was getting the emblem on the chest to look right. With some diligence, that came out appropriately. The head was simple. I grabbed my Mystique head and ripped her hair off. Then, I did the same to Black Widow, and popped Mystique's hair on her. I had to do a decent amount of sanding to the back of her head to make it fit though. Add construct, and done.

A marvelous job you did, though. Especially the logo, I can never get those right.

Toothpick. Just dipped it in and carefully moved it across. Had a friend who used to shave a toothpick thinner and used it to do the eyes on his figures. Basically did the same thing here. That, with an index card can help for a straighter emblem. Though it didn't do much for me.

Great looking custom. Makes me wish Hasbro had the DC license.

So in the new 52, Barbara can walk again? Or did "Killing Joke" just get retconned?

If The Killing Joke got retconned, that's a whole big mess...

She can just walk again. All healed up. The shooting still happened, still haunts her, even. Cause it now only happened like three years prior.

Oh, good. Killing Joke is one of my absolute favorite Batman stories. I can remember reading the comic and thinking afterward, "Holy #$%!" It's what showed me that the Joker can be both sadistic and playful with his insane sense of humor. Literally anything is an option to him.

While some of DC's continuity should be forgotten (Cry for Justice), the events and repercussions of Killing Joke should never be brushed under the continuity rug.
