Holy crap. This is the hardest one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make in life. I'll have to think about this one for a while...

evilanimation 07-02-2012 07:22 AM

Turtles 100%

Nexodusrex 07-02-2012 07:39 AM

I have to go with Turtles. It has far more longevity and far more characters and vehicles. Not to mention you have to compare movies, television, ect. Its hard, but I have to go with the Mean Green Fighting Machine. Cowabunga

Actually, the basis for these face-offs is strictly toy lines. I agree that if cartoons, movies, etc. were a factor than Turtles easily wins. But we're supposed to be talking toys here, and it really is a hard choice for me.

vampireheart 07-02-2012 07:44 AM

Oh man this sucks what evil bastard would make you choose just one??!? (Sorry Joe Moore :p)I guess i would have to go with the one line I had the most figures for...damn come to think of it these lines made up most of my collection as a kid up until the Marvel Toybiz stuff of the 90s. Ahhhhh tough choice man im going with He-Man, no offense Turtles :(

well theres also the fact that the turtle toys dwarf the heman stuff, with the exact same articulation.

trebleshot 07-02-2012 07:52 AM

Tough choice, but going by toy line only, I went with MOTU. I enjoyed that toy line far more than the Turtles. I guess it was because there were far too many gimmick toys of the four Turtles. At least with MOTU, I only had to worry about the abundance of two (He-Man and Skeletor).

With Turtles, every theme they did meant all four of them got yet another toy (some of which were just stupid).

MegaPrime33 07-02-2012 08:00 AM

Such a tough call as I loved both toy lines very much as a kid. And it's tough to compare because He-Man was the 80s and Turtles was really more the 90s. I don't think I can really choose on this one.

neatogecko 07-02-2012 08:33 AM

Another tough one, but I had to go with MOTU. I mean...it's He-Man!

KingLouie731 07-02-2012 09:02 AM

i went with turtles because i had amassed a larger collection of them faster than motu

Shin Densetsu 07-02-2012 09:26 AM

Ninja turtles wins it for me.

Crazy Jetty 07-02-2012 09:28 AM

There's no contest for me. I hated everything about heman. Especially the toys.

If we were compairing newer heman toys, then it would be harder. But TMNT, 100% no contest.
Better toys, plain and simple. Better designs, better sculpting, better names, more originality through and through.

miketime 07-02-2012 09:45 AM

As one of the first toys I ever played with, He-Man gets my vote. I've had almost complete sets of both toys and I prefer the turtles vehicles but He-Man is my fav of the two. After a while the turtles figures became all grose out characters and oddly dressed Turtles.

Snailbot 07-02-2012 10:01 AM

I loved (love) both toy lines. This is the hardest vote yet but for me it comes down to the toyline with the best memories. The younger I was, the better the toy memories. So for this: He-Man.

ersico 07-02-2012 10:04 AM

reptiles for the win :)

Runamuck 07-02-2012 10:18 AM

haha! Wow...talk about the battle of the titans. The fandom runs so deep for both of these franchises. I just can't choose...seriously.

I would've thought it was the other way around, as far as more vehicles go. He-Man had a crap ton of vehicles.

Maverick 07-02-2012 10:50 AM

Hard choice i picked the turtles though.

booga 07-02-2012 11:27 AM

This is like two hot girls with great personalities and you have to pick one!

MOTU had Eternia and that was one of the coolest playsets ever. The character designs are a lot darker than TMNT too. But the turtles were a life style for me and my bros when we were kids. We had the bed sets, birthday cakes, even Halloween costumes. I even saw them when they had that super corny concert. But if we are going strictly by toys, I'm gonna have to go with He-Man.

glass67 07-02-2012 11:30 AM

This match-up shouldn't be in the first round. Both these lines are bigger than most of the stuff moving on to the second round. But since I have to make a choice, I'll go with MOTU. I only say that because eventually the TMNT became a joke with all the goofy figures that came out and the ridiculous costumes they put the turtles in. If the turtles stayed more like they were when they first came out, they'd win.

Agreed. Two #1 seeds in the same bracket is whack.

Why? What difference does it make if they go against one another now, or in round two, or round three?
Answer: It makes no difference at all.
Because they're likely to face off against each other sooner or later. And right off the bat means you're not sentencing some other line to an unfair early execution.

That depends on what the ultimate goal of this tournament is.

If it's JUST to see who #1 is, and that's it, then yeah you'd have a good point. However, if they're going for a ranking or if #2, #3, and so on, are incorporated, then it makes all the difference.

And by NOT "sentencing some other line to an unfair (unfair how, exactly??) execution," as you put it, you're sentencing at least one of two very popular lines to an early execution.

Hey, maybe I'm insane, but I'd bet the majority of voters would choose either TMNT or MOTU over something like "The Bionic Six."

It would be hilarious if in sports every year they just grabbed the two top seeds and said, "you two are clearly better than everyone else, so play each other in round one,.. we only want one good team to advance and be in our championship match! Don't like it,.. ha!.. you guys should've done a shittier job during the regular season then, fools! You were too good!" ..or in this case; selling toys.
