Which version of Cable best fits w/ my 90s
 

I asked this in the MU appiciation thread but didn't get much response thought Id ask here and see if i could get a better response.

Seeking a little bit of advise on an upcoming custom. You may have seen my 90's X-men....

I'm going to tackle Cable here soon but I'm not sure which version to go with. Which costume do you guys think would fit better with my above team pic?

If I'm not mistaken I believe the first pic is an early 90's look and the second look is more late 90's so I don't think either would be too far out of place. Personally I like the second look more as its a bit more of a cohesive look with the other x-men (and I think would just be easier to do from a customizing stand point). But does this look conflict with any of the other x-men's looks that I have going on right here? Particularly Archangel? Didn't Archangel shed his pink and blue look in the late 90's when Cable was sporting the Xavier Blue and Yellow team look?

Of course there is also the very distinct possibility that I am WAAAYY over thinking this. :-)

I've always been partial to blue and gold Cable.

Haha, no way are you over thinking this! It's nerdiness! I like late 90's Blue/Yellow Cable.

The first pic is a little closer to his initial first appearance from New Mutants, though in animated form. The second pic, which I like, he was wearing by the mid 90's ('94).

So, I'd go with the Xavier/X-Men suit from the 2nd pic.

Archangel, around this same time, had blue skin, with blonde hair and his 70's blue, or sometimes red, suit.

That's an easy repaint of the upcoming Angel figure

Awesome! Thanks y'all. Seems the consensus is for the blue and gold. Which is great cause that's the one I like better myself.

Warmachine6- yeah. I have the market release cable. Too modern. Lol. As for the pic you have up of the marvel legends Cable... That's not a bad look. Crap ton of shoulder pads though. Lol. I think under all that it's pretty close to the blue and gold look in my original post.

I'm so glad I wasn't a Cable fan in the early 90's... like all I remember about him was that he had big shoulder pads and a big gun, so like now having the more modern looking MU one doesn't bother me when I stick him with the rest of my 90's X-men. On the other hand having modern Gambit & Colossus in my display is slowly killing me. LOL.

I like the top one to me cable is x-force and not a x-man. I like his non x-man looking outfits.

Nathan SHOULD be a soldier first and foremost NOT an X-man. Nuff said!!!

I love my series 6 Cable. He will fit in better colourwise, but the blue/grey Cable is the earlier version. Depends on what you're going for I suppose.

If you are still trying to figure out which cable to go with consider this, if you want him to have that MvC/x-men strike team look then go with the second one, but if you are going for that 90's x-men tas/ 90's x-force look, then go with the first one. I had made mine out of a MU Cable and made it a cross between the 90's x-men cartoon and his look in X-FORCE#1 comic and I think it looks good. Check out my thread WM23Customs. Peace out.
