Play Imaginative Super Alloy Batman 1/6 Scale

Play Imaginative Super Alloy Batman 1/6 Scale

Looking good. Play Imaginative's site has a black/grey version up. Recent promo images show a blue/grey version. Can't tell which is final, or if there are 2. If you have clarification, let us know!

Looks pretty good. It is however a bit cartoonish, and I usually like a bit more detail in my 1/6th collectibles. I'll stick to Hot Toys and Enterbay for my Batman collectables.

M3T4L V1KING 08-13-2012 01:15 PM

Gotta agree with it being cartoonish. Also looks too blocky. But I guess that's just how the look is supposed to be.

Shin Densetsu 08-13-2012 01:27 PM

Awesome!

Enigma2K2 08-13-2012 02:26 PM

FIFTY points of articulation? Trying to top the Spider-man 2 ultimate figure, are we?

Tiberius 08-13-2012 02:31 PM

I'll field that one. Because it was/is good.

You're welcome.

M3T4L V1KING 08-13-2012 03:57 PM

I'm on my brother's side for this one. I don't like Batman Beyond either. The only thing I think it had going for it was badass old guy Bruce Wayne.

bog 08-13-2012 05:01 PM

I won't flame as it is pretty far down on my list and i've never bought the comic. But i enjoyed the show.

I do like this figure as well.

Solrac333 08-13-2012 08:11 PM

Looks like a combination of Animated Series and Dark Knight.

I liked it because it wasn't predictable. Instead of some uber bad ass who takes on the mantle of the bat in place of Bruce, we get some kid who clearly isn't that great to begin with but grows into a worthy successor. That, without being annoying like Robin. At least that's how I saw it.

Back on topic, does anyone recognize this design from games or some story arcs?

Tony_Bacala 08-14-2012 08:22 AM

Update - Joel clarified the edition differences: There are 2 editions, the normal (which we currently have pictured on our site) - and the 'special edition' - which features glossy paint versus matte paint. The color schemes seem pretty similar

So, looks like that possible blue tone might be coming from the lighting in the second set of pictures, not an actual different color scheme. Just different paint style.

Definitely heavily influenced by Jim Lee's New 52 design. But they've gone a step further and made it look more armoured.

webz 08-15-2012 03:48 PM

too armored for Batman. Batman is a acrobatic fighter, not a ranged blaster like Ironman. He needs to be able to maneuver quickly, not be wearing steel panties.

Sorry, but not worth whatever insane price they are sticking to this.

And for the record, on average, I enjoyed Batman Beyond more than Batman TAS. TAS had some fantastic classic episodes, but also a TON of filler... BB seemed better paced...

StaticShin27 08-15-2012 09:31 PM

Am I the only one who thinks the head sorta looks out of place. Even for a comic-like design it looks a bit...cartoonish, very flat.
