New Justice League

DC is doing a new League book called Justice League America, wow a good title so I am interested, but there is more J'onn J'onzz will be in it and that is all I need. Of course there are others.

From IGN

Quote:

In a very interesting announcement from Fan Expo Toronto, DC Comics has revealed a new Justice League title -- dubbed Justice League of America -- by DCU guru Geoff Johns and superstar artist David Finch, set to debut next year.

Just as exciting as the prospect of another Justice League title with an all-star creative team is the book's cast, as shown in the image below. Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, Catwoman, Hawkman, Steve Trevor, Stargirl, Katana, Vibe, and the new Green Lantern.

"This is a very different kind of team book,” Johns told The Source. “On first glance, people might think the heroes of the Justice League of America stand in the shadows of Superman, Wonder Woman and the rest of the Justice League, but Green Arrow, Katana, Martian Manhunter, the new Green Lantern, Stargirl, Vibe, Hawkman and Catwoman thrive in the shadows. They're underdogs who have everything to prove and something to lose. They're a team of unlikely heroes who will help one another discover they're as A-List as anybody -- yes, even Vibe. Though getting there won't be easy. Why they're formed, why each member joins, what they're after and who the society of villains is they're trying to take apart will all be clear in the first issue when it hits early 2013. David and I are really focused on delving deep into what it's like to not be a member of the big seven and why, sometimes, the grass isn't always greener on the other side.”

Personally, I'm pumped to have some of these characters in the spotlight on such a grand stage. It does raise interesting questions about how this book will relate to Justice League and the solo adventures of these characters. Or, in the case of Katana, her membership with the Birds of Prey. Plus, it's introducing some new (old) characters back into the DC Universe. Stargirl FTW!

as some one who avoids the new dc, since when is catwoman a hero?

Have no idea don't read her book but I understand it is good. Much of the DC 52 is pretty good. I read more of the 52 stuff than I read Marvel titles as of now, at least until the Marvel Now stuff comes out. Detective and Batman are really good. Swamp Thing and Animal are both good reads.

Since every anti hero became popular back in the 90's. You can thank Wolverine.

I mean hey now we even have Magneto and Doom in the hero column these days...go figure  I miss villains.

It's like WWE. Haven't watched wrestling in about 10 years but I remember The Rock going heel and then face and vice versa and how big of a deal it was each time. Mags and Doom's heel turn is inevitable. Thinking Magneto's wil be this week or so (AvX)....I hope.

That JL lineup is kinda cool. Martian is one of my favorite characters period so if he's the lead I'm rooting for it.

I still think it's kind of weird to have Catwoman on the Justice League.
