Is anyone else sick of the inane variety?

I have a little rant.

It seems with the high success of Revoltech and Figma there have been about 3-4 other companies and toy lines to pop up with super articulated action figures. This is amazing~! However what is not amazing is the price~! It seems that most of these companies (including Kaiyodo, the makers of Revoltech) are bumping up their prices. About 2 years ago some of the Revol's that were coming out were price pointed at around $25-$30, but ever since Figma started charging around $50-$60 it seems that all the other figure brands (like Figuarts) have decided to take that stance.

My last and final beef with this is the array of selection. It seems that even though we are FINALLY getting some awesome characters in a physical format (Granted there is a ton of selection.) it seems that lines like "Riobot" are doubling up on figure releases such as the JEHUTY and ANUBIS from Zone of Enders even though Kotobukiya is releasing model kits and have already seen a release as a Revoltech. Not even to mention the Queen's Blade Revoltech and their squishy counterpart from FULLPUNI.

I am already seeing a trend with the Nendroid figure too~! Soon we'll be flooded with a ton of selection of the same characters and for a price that frankly I am not willing to pay. :/

(Unless it's Link from Zelda... then yes...)

I hear you brother...and sometimes the price increases are justified, and sometimes they're just a cash grab and it's tough to tell the difference.

I'd just on the Revoltech Marvel, DC and Transformer/Movie figures if they weren;t $50+ each ... if I'm gonna put that much out for 1 6'' figure I'll put it towards a rare ML, Hellboy or save for a Hot Toys figure.

Yeah, I'd love to get more into Figuarts and Revoltech, but the price and import costs are what are keeping me away.

As for doubling or tripling up on the characters already released, each company that throws their collective hat in the ring needs a flagship character to push the new line (or sub-line), so it stands to reason that they would want to start with an established character first instead of something that acts as an add-on to someone else's toy line.

While this may suck for someone trying to get a complete cast from one show or another, I think it's really good for first-time buyers. If they like a given character, they can pick from multiple styles and lines.

Yeah, I do think it's ridiculous to have three or four companies all make the same character and then none of them ever get around to doing the rest of the team/cast. This isn't like G1 with dozens of Autobots and Decepticons; most of these teams/casts are 3-5 people. I bought Revoltech Lupin but the number one reason I won't get Jigen is because they have no plans to do Fujiko and Goemon to complete the set.

im more mad at the fact that with 3-4 different versions, none reach my expectations.

joints are crappy, paint is crappy, height is crappy. you'd think one company would get it right but its almost like they are separating the quality. you want good joints go with company A, you want a good likeness go with B
