It's weird how they "announce" toys at Toy Fair that are already out. I've had Bucky-Cap and his motorcycle since around Christmas.

I think it gives buyers and retailers a chance to compare statistics and trends. Some of this stuff is out, so there would be sales figures that the retailers can reference.

This would allow a retailer to say, "Well those are selling well, so we should buy more of the new ones. Oh, and there's more toys with the same brand. Maybe they will sell as well as these have."

Also, not all buyers/retailers that attend Toy Fair have seen or purchased the products on display, so it gives Hasbro, et al., a chance to gain some new customers.
