TMNT Metal Head Figure WILL Be Reissued
 

I have been speaking to Paula at Playmates Toys over the past couple of weeks (via e-mail), and she just informed me that the error card of Metal Head will indeed be corrected and reissued with the next production run.

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, when Metal Head was first issued, the back of the card showed Raphael twice. He was represented as both himself and Mikey. I have included my original photo from another thread below.

This will of course bring me back to my original question of, "Will the reissued *fixed* card be rarer than the original *error* card?" I suppose that all depends on the quantity of said production run. Only time will tell. But, for now, we variant hunters have something to keep an eye out for.

I'm not going to hold my breath that this packaging error, *or* the corrected version will be anything to write home about in terms of resell value. Doubt one will be worth more than the other, or worth more than the figure would be if the error didn't exist (Or conversely, if they never bothered to correct it).

Also, It's not going to be a reissue in the true sense of the word. More like a running change when the figure carries over to the next wave.

People still care about this shit? I'm pretty sure POTF2 proved that packaging errors/variants/running changes mean nothing.

I'm more curious to see which one will be printed in lower quantity. I could care a less about after market prices because I don't plan on selling mine.

That's not a reissue, that's a running change to fix a packaging error. Running changes are extremely common to fix minor errors.

The corrected Metalhead card is hitting store shelves.

Grain of salt here, mates. I've talked to Paula a lot over the past 10 years and what she says doesn't always happen. I'm not saying it's her fault, as it could be her higher-ups.

The one I picked up yesterday has the fixed card.
