Its just been confirmed, Mark Wahlberg will star in Transformers 4. I think this is awesome...

I think Wahlberg is actually better in comedies than he is in action films, but at least he will provide some credibility to the franchise. If he joined then the script must be at least half way decent.

I dunno. Cant have all the same people in place behind the scenes,a nd expect them to turn out something that's any different than the three others they produced.
And even if the script is decent, Bay will still largely ignore it. I did have some small hope this one might be enjoyable until Bay jumped back in and said it was only because he didn't want anyone else to do it.
I think he was afraid an actual director would get aboard and make him look as bad as he really is.

Well, with Wahlberg signed up, it can only get better right? ;)

In all seriousness, I've really enjoyed his work as an actor over the years (especially The Italian Job remake). But he's also branched out into writing and directing, so maybe he will help steer TF4 away from Bay's typical output.

What's everyones thoughts on this now they have seen the trailer?
