Look a Noob! Let's poke it with a stick!

Hello, I'm one of those idiot newbies you hear so much about. I go by Robodog here and everywhere else. I have recently started collecting action figures again and by recently I mean I just purchased a few today. I'm kind of limited in what I collect. I only collect robots. Transformers, Star Wars Droids and any other robot figure I can get my filthy hands on. I also collect robotic pets like Furby but since those aren't action figures I won't say much about them.
Collecting robots isn't a new thing for me. Back in the late 90's to early 00's I had a sizeable collection but I pulled a stupid and sold them all. I kept only one, a G1 Soundwave, one of the coolest robot toys ever made in my opinion. But somehow Soundwave got lost somewhere along the line. I have no idea what happened to him. One day he was there the next he was gone.
So I'm basically starting from scratch again. I've been threatening to start collecting again for a year now, but didn't bite the bullet until today. I picked up a Transformers FOC Jazz and a couple Star Wars Droids, an R2 that makes noise and lights up and another yellow and white Astromech whose name I'd have to go look at the cardback to tell you. G8 something or other I think.
The collection will be slow going this time around as I have a lot less money than I did before. It'll be awhile before I'll be able to match my original collection if I ever can.
So that's about it for my introduction. See you on the boards!

Welcome to the Toyark!

I'm a huge fan of Transformers, and robots in general (though I tend to get rather picky outside of TFs). I highly recommend just about anything released for Transformers under the Generations banner (which includes FOC).

A good chuck of it has already been out for a while, so there may be you'll want to hit up Ebay or the BST forums to track down, if you're interested. A small portion of the series is repaints/redecos, though.

Another good series is Transformers Prime. Some really great figures there (both in the mainline and First Edition).

Thanks! I don't have a problem with repaints or Redecos. If I like the mold enough I'll buy it again in different colors. Sometimes I'll even buy doubles of the exact same figures if I like them enough. I also dabble in TMNT and I'm thinking about trying to get a second set of the original Nick Turtles before the enevitable variants come out to replace them. That may be a problem though as most places around here are completely sold out of TMNT, and I hear Donatello is particularly hard to find. I stopped ordering online awhile ago. All I have is a debit card and I'm nervous about using it online anymore.
