MU Classic Iron Man (Golden Avenger) WIP
4 Attachment(s)
Well, I'm happy to say that this is my first leap into this wonderful hobby of customizing. Tons of comments, good or bad, are welcome!
I came across the new line of 3-3/4" Iron Man 2 figures and fell in love with most of them. I particularly loved the classic, first appearance, "battle-scarred" figure. Since I haven't seen any classic "Golden Avenger" figures yet, I thought it would be a good way to finally dive into customizing. Although it is a little late in the process, here's what I got so far. As you can see, I still have a decent amount of cleaning up to do, mostly around the joints. Paint rub is killing me, guys! I also need to clean up the paint on the helmet a little bit. Overall, I've been having tons of fun with this little guy. Here's the completed figure: MU Classic Iron Man (Golden Avenger) |

i was planning on doing this but i am so lazy.my spider woman custom has been in limbo for a year,i don't even have paint

Awesome man, no lie, I love it.

Thanks guys!
Any suggestions for treating the paint rub (especially the hip joints)? I've tried the super glue method, but the super glue I used seemed to have a bad effect on the paint. |

one method i recently came across was dipping the figure in hot water for a minute then popping off all the joints from the elbow, thighs and once removed, sanding the areas that will rub down. that way when painted and assembled the paint compensates for the amount of plastic you sanded off. just remember to seal the joints in future finish and let it cure for a few days before re-assembling the figure.:)

Thanks for the advice! Will do!

no problem, good luck man! the difficulty with working with figures in this scale is the plastic is more malleable and resistant to paint. one other method is by dying the plastic as close to the paint you will use as possible.
i will tell you this as early as now, when you get around to making Silver Centurion use the stealth iron man as the base figure, you won't have to deal too much with the dark blue plastic coming out from the silver than the bright yellow from the classic colored armor i'm using for mine :) |
Thanks eisen, but it's too late for that, lol. I don't know why I didn't think of that before! Rookie mistake...
