You get to resurrect one dead toy brand.

So your the head of a new toy company. What would be your zombie brand whether it be a 50's 60's 70's 80's 90's what ever dead toy line it may be. Would you then try to reboot the brand with new ideas, characters so on or create the "classics" collection.

Please feel free to indulge into cross promotion ideas like. Comic books, tv shows, movies, "the internet".

Just curious..

Centurions.

bmorr 02-20-2013 02:35 PM

exo squad

Crazy Jetty 02-20-2013 02:57 PM

I'm reeeeally torn here.
Dinoriders or Exosquad, take your pick.

Dinoriders would be a complete reboot, with a new concept to explain humans and dinosaurs (ther than ancient aliens), in a way that does not limit one to dinosaurs of one time frame. Would also use the latest scientific theories and knowledge to make the dinosaur toys.
Exosquad would be a prequel: The Pirate Crusades. It would tell the tale of the Exoforce's skirmishes with a younger Jonas Simbaca and his pirates, and the Neosapiens and the impending revolution would be a backstory that's built through it.
Then when the Pirate Crusades seem like it might be near resolution, they get word that Phaeton has taken over Earth and Venus, and usher in the new story/line called "The Neo Revolution," and be a retelling of the tale that we're familier with, including new toys (Would have to be since the old molds were sold off). That probably would not last quite as long as it did originally. Because we'd end with the arrival of a new threat, from outside the solar system, and tell the story that the original did not get to.

Immediately thought of Dino Riders. Such a great toy line.

Crazy Jetty 02-20-2013 03:24 PM

This reminded me, I had an almost identical thread:

Mask

Black Arbor 02-20-2013 04:35 PM

I know this was more of a 2000's kind of line, but I'd LOVE to bring back the Palisades Muppets/ Sesame Street line. Those figures were (and still are) some of the most amazing figures I've ever seen, and we got awesome playsets with tons of detail (and Mattel Can't even make us a decent Batcave? Pfffh) and loads of accessories. It was so sad to see them go, especially since we got a taste of what we were gonna miss with the prototypes. I hope whoever those prototypes out there cherishes them.

Harness the power...Dino Riders!

joefan76 02-20-2013 04:53 PM

Silver Hawks 4 inch figures with a new toon would have been great to cross them over with the Thundercats if they hadnt been cancelled

behindthemask 02-20-2013 05:15 PM

I have some childhood loves such as Reboot,Biker Mice From Mars, earthworm Jim*which happened already, but not the entire line. Tick would be another cannidate. Would love to see them updated with more posability and better sculpts. Super articulated Matrix figures in 6'' scale. The Mcfarlane figures were sculpted well but shit articulation.

ToyAddict 02-20-2013 05:23 PM

M.A.S.K., done in true 3.75" scale.

ToyAddict 02-20-2013 05:25 PM

Or Dino Riders, done as kind of a "Journey to the Center of the Earth" crossover. So you can ignore time periods and such. Just throw all the dinos and people together.

sampaul35 02-20-2013 05:28 PM

3.75" m.a.s.k.

Robotech

cobracobra 02-21-2013 05:29 AM

Robotech would be awesome so would Dino Riders and Exo Squad!!!

warmachine6 02-21-2013 05:37 AM

Hmmm they may not be dead as much
but it would be nice to have toybiz back , mainly cause you got 2 things a 1. well detailed and perhaps articulated figure 2. a comic book with that character

MegaPrime33 02-21-2013 05:49 AM

MASK
Silverhawks
2002 He-Man

MeLikeJinx 02-21-2013 05:55 AM

I agree with everyone who said Mask... I still remember when I got the Mask semi truck for Christmas as a kid... damn... such a cool toy.

Robotech was cool too, but that was too close to Transformers IMO.

Scythe 02-21-2013 06:01 AM

Mighty Max.

Spats 02-21-2013 06:15 AM

Xevoz all the way, such a cool line. So much potential!

ersico 02-21-2013 06:24 AM

The real battle beast

bmorr 02-21-2013 06:36 AM

ill also throw in micro machines and maybe Zoids.

bad karma 02-21-2013 08:06 AM

MASK. Done the same scale as GIJOE. Give us remakes of all the classic stuff and then expand into modern vehicles.
