Walking Dead TV Series 4

McFarlane Announces Walking Dead TV Series 4 Figures

Mastersteef 04-05-2013 05:55 AM

Awesome. I can't wait for the updated Daryl figure. :D

denali33x 04-05-2013 07:50 AM

i just hope daryl is an all new scuplt and not a repack.

Joe Moore 04-05-2013 07:54 AM

UPDATE:
Images released and added to the post.

denali33x 04-05-2013 08:01 AM

looks like daryl is just a repack of the terrible wave 1 figure. all the other figures look awesome though.

DogFashionDisco 04-05-2013 01:13 PM

They can't possibly think that is a good idea. Why not use their face scanning ability on one of the show's most popular characters? Sheesh.

I certainly hope it isn't a straight repack. Even if McFarlane increases the quality of paint apps to those of Series 3 it would be a huge improvement. Better paint won't help with the weird articulation but the face might actually look like Daryl.

DogFashionDisco 04-05-2013 07:37 PM

This would make for a great petition to McFarlane Toys - a bunch of potential fans/consumers demanding a better Daryl figure. I watched the Talking Dead episode where they show Michael Rooker having his head scanned for his figure's design, and there is absolutely no reason Walking Dead fans shouldn't expect the same for a Daryl figure. The internet has spoken! haha

Poison Shadow 04-05-2013 07:46 PM

They don't need to make a whole new head sculpt for Daryl, the first one is great. It's just that the paint was done so poorly on series 1 that it ruined the appearance - and considering how fantastic series 3 turned out, I'm sure this new Daryl will actually look like Norman Reedus.

The sloppy hair, goofy eyes and cartoonish facial hair was the problem. Everything should be applied more realistically this time if they stick with their new standards.

Black Arbor 04-05-2013 07:54 PM

I'd bet dollars to donuts there'll be a variant Governor with an eyepatch.

DogFashionDisco 04-05-2013 07:58 PM

I'm with you, better paint would be a huge improvement, but the weird forced pose still sucks. I guess we'll find out.

This is unacceptable:

This shitty image came from an ebay auction by a dirtbag company I once worked at called Slackers CDS and Games. They've been bleeding people dry for years.... I didn't know how sketchy they were until I was an employee, and quickly stepped out to do better with my life. Don't shop there. By the way, they want $319.99 + shipping for a Daryl.

I'm pretty sure he comes with an alternate head - eye patch and no eye patch.

That picture makes me wanna cry. Who in their right mind looked at the paint job on that and thought they were good to go? It looks like he has dots for eyes! And while interchangeable heads would be awesome, we have to remember that this is Mcfarlane we're talking about here. They made/make a living off of bleeding people dry with variants.

I think the interchangeable heads are the real deal. They made a point to note it in their official description. So far McFarlane seems to be doing a great job packing in extra value where they can. The comic Wave 1 Rick w/ bag 'o guns, Wave 2 Rick with extra hands and weapons, Wave 3 Pet Zombies with arms and jaws, and the upcoming Comic Wave 2 Governor w/ alternate arm and head and Penny with fish tank full of heads all surpass what I expected for those figures. Not that I'm complaining though... the great figures with extra parts and accessories make up for the lousier releases like Shane and Bicycle Girl.

Well, then I guess I owe Mcfarlane an apology for doubting them. And they owe us about, oh, lets say, 2,874 apologies. :)

Double that number, just for the Daryl figure.

avcprime 04-06-2013 04:21 PM

These look ok but I will wait till I see the final product not that I will buy them anyway. Man I just wished Mcfarlane went back to the 6-8 inch figures.
