Marvel price match website what you think?
Hello I'm thinking of setting up website were you can find out how much a figure costs, but not just a database i'm going to see if i can directly link the site to ebay for the prices so prices are automatically updated, also would like a running feed bar of ended auctions with what price a figure sold for this is just to phase out overpricing on figures also hopefully put a dent in scalpers. i know this may not sound much but this is just me asking the toy community if this would work and would they allow it, i would love for this site to be the benchmark for people's prices and as i said before stamp out overpricing and be a big help to the community i know not all people overcharge on figs and there is a lot of genuine people out there.
Thank you for looking and if it doesn't make sense i do apologize. |
Personally i think it would be a waste of your time. No matter how much people complain about ebay it is "THE" benchmark when it comes to pricing. The BIN's that are to high sit the BIN's or auctions that are reasonable sell. A simple scroll through completed auctions can give you the FMV (fair market value) of a particuliar piece.

interesting idea but i have to argee with black tower because figures vary so much nowadays as well as the most important thing is that you can earn alot of money to the right seller and depending on how much they are willing to get for it and how desperate i.e another mans junk is another mans treasure

I like it, I dont know about it bringing aftermarket prices down, the market is what it is...and predicting an average on Ebay seems dificult at best as the price of the same thing will fluctuate greatly auction to auction, even hour to hour! but I'd pay to see a sort of "closer to real time" price guide, like a market watch for toys. hells yeah go for it bro!! there hasnt been a good accessable price guide sence ToyFare magazine went down, and even then you'd have to wait a month for info.

Thank's guys

I actually wouldn't mind having a site like shmax.com that caters to TF's, where there's one for MU figures. I know there's shelflife but that site is eh. I like shmax a lot better then shelflife.
