Agents of SHIELD
Now this looks pretty cool to watch.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Official Trailer - YouTube |
Any idea when this series starts? I'm looking forward to it, love Phil Coulson's character.
|
It's on Tuesday's this Fall. Not sure the exact start date, but I'm sure it's listed somewhere.
|
Agents of SHIELD
I watched the first episode. I am not going to reveal more then you saw in teasers. Much like other hero shows it started very typically Main characters introed. It appears they are going to Villain of the week like Smallville did with bigger stories tying into the season finale next spring. I will say there was no earth shaking moment
|
I would say the status of Coulson is going to be interesting. I have some theories already, but I'm curious to see how the show decides to run with it. I was also happy to see that the show is post-Avengers and that Cobie Smulders reprises her role as Maria Hill. Maybe since HIMYM is ending, she'll be able to jump on AOS as a regular cast member.
So far, I'm on board. |
I'm just glad they tied in Iron Man 3 hopefully Thor 2 and Captain America 2 get their spotlight moment. I will say ABC didn't try and knock out Arrow by doing same night and Time.
|
That would have been a quick way to kill AOS before it got off the ground.
|
It didn't blow me away, but it was watchable.
Kinda dissappointed that Extremis looks like it's going to be the "Kryptonite monster of the week" macguffin. How they handled Extremis was the only thing I didn't like about Ironman 3. Also, am I the only one who was stunned that that *wasn't* Luke Cage? |
The guy not being Luke Cage was Anticlimatic. They pratically made him Luke then grabbed the foundation and pulled it out leaving people going "what the hell?". Thats why I drew a comparison to Smallville Extremis is the Meteor Rocks of this show.
|
I'll stick with Arrow, I think. I expect this to sink like Firefly and Dollhouse.
|
Arrow lost me in three weeks. While neither show actually pushes the envelope AoS has done something that happens in comic books. Killed a Character and brought them back. The good thing for AoS that might end up hurting Arrow later is that the AoS stories will be going on in the Back ground of Future Movies so all will tie in together. Unless DC does Justice League and finds a way to tie Arrow into it, things might continue to sink for DC. BTW what ever happened to the Planned Raven series?
|
Episode 2 ending :eek::eek::eeek:eeek:eeek. Spoiler... Sam Jackson appears as Nick Fury... I felt the Earth move
|
I thought the pilot was mediocre but the 2nd episode I really enjoyed. Wonder what the deal is with Coulson and his magical place? The cameo at the end was great.

I'm pulling Thor November 5th... Three days before the Movie
|
I Have to say the main parts of the Episodes seem to be very sleepy in nature and a little boring at times.
|
I don't think it's a bad show, but my favorite show (Supernatural) just started back up so I am a tad distracted. :)

I'm also hoping that they use AoS to introduce characters for future movies. It'd be a great way to get characters in that aren't big enough for their own movies and don't fit in with the ones already being used. |
I think the overall Idea is to Introduce Characters that are not strong enough to hold their own movies e.g. Dum Dum Dugan, Jessica Drew, and other Lesser Known Members. It will also be a way to develope the SHIELD agents for Back Ground movie appearances

I really agree with the idea of bringing in possible future movie Avengers, and villains into the mix through the show. |
Hadn't considered it as a platform to introduce supporting characters for movies but you have a good point. However overall it's just something to top up the TiVo box for when there's not much else on in my opinion.
Mildly entertaining but won't lose sleep if I miss an episode or two. |

Shame, really. I would have loved to see a Power Man & Iron Fist or Heroes for Hire spin-off and/or movie. |

I think the show is still trying to find it's way. It's just ok right now, but has the potential to be something great. I look back on shows like Buffy and even TNG, and their first seasons weren't that good. I'm hoping this show gets a chance to be great, considering how quickly networks seem to axe shows if they don't get the best numbers.
|
Agreed.
I enjoyed this last episode since we were dealing with an actual human with powers - ones that weren't generated by some experiment, suit or alien technology (that we are currently aware of), and we got some callbacks to previous characters/plot threads within the show. But I'm kinda on the fence about the shadow games stuff. While it is intriguing and keeps the audience guessing, it can get very tiresome after a while if the plot has too many twists and turns or a mystery is dragged out too long. |
