Transformers Classics 70's Bumblebee
Hey! It's you! How are ya?
I had this Transformer. You may have him. Cybertron Downshift is his name. Now, Cybertron Downshift has a nice Wheeljack noggin, but the rest isn't so Wheeljack-ish. I couldn't think of any TFs to customize him into, so I harvested his head and deemed him useless. Then, I decided to try out the Classics Barricade I finished recently, and it came to me, as if I'd come in contact with an Allspark shard...Classics 70's Bumblebee! http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d1...mblebee/b1.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d1...mblebee/b2.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d1...mblebee/b3.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d1...mblebee/b4.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d1...mblebee/b5.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d1...mblebee/b6.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d1...mblebee/b7.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d1...mblebee/b8.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d1...mblebee/b9.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d1...blebee/b10.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d1...blebee/b11.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d1...blebee/b12.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d1...blebee/b13.jpg It took quite a bit of work, actually. After masking the windows and doing the stripes, I started with a base coat of yellow enamel and black, then silver drybrushing. Panel lining was done with a darker shade of yellow, then light yellow drybrushing. Then, I went in for the mud and rust. I tried to make the rust a redder shade, with a darker core, while the mud is darker on the outside but lighter in the center to make them look a little different. Then I went back, added some scratches, and added little rusty holes where he'd seen combat. Clear dark flesh was used, and also added to the underside to give a patina, rusty look. The head rests on a newly constructed ball joint. I had to use a dremel to hollow out some of the inside body to allow for the new head to lower during transformation. I thought this one would be easy and fast as I could just slop everything around, but that wasn't the case! I guess you could say I needed alot of order to make all that chaos! Whew!
