BBTS News - Star Wars Black Series Pre-Orders Now Live

Awesome I just pre-ordered a case! My first Star Wars collection is about to start.

MeLikeJinx 05-30-2013 04:34 PM

^ Whoa... you never bought any Phantom Menace figs? I thought everybody bought at least one Phantom Menace fig. LOL. I didn't even collect toys at the time... but I still bought an episode 1 Darth Maul fig. LOL.

Mine too! I just ordered R2 and Maul. Pretty cool.

Ravenxl7 05-30-2013 08:36 PM

I'll most likely get Vader. Don't have any Star Wars figures, so I'll keep any I get in-package. I love the reference to the ESB scene. I might get Luke too. Not a bad looking outfit on that figure. If we get a retail Boba Fett in either scale, I'll get that. Though I'm kinda curious to see if they'll do a designated toyline for his movie.

Any idea who they've got in the works for the second wave of this series?

FadeToBlackBolt 05-31-2013 08:42 AM

These figures are really gorgeous. I have quite a few 4" SW figures, but these are awesome. I've sworn off mass-market action figures, but I really want these *__*

snake5289 05-31-2013 04:04 PM

That 6 inch pilot Luke is amazing looking.

Star Wars Black Series Darth Maul Revealed - The Toyark - News

Optimus Neeson 06-01-2013 06:54 PM

Darth Maul, one of the worst character designs I've ever seen :D He looks like a member of Insane Clown Posse.

I kinda like the sci-fi - alien feel to the character. He just looks like a real evil guy, perfect for a Sith Lord.

I think it's the reverse. Maul looks awesome and badass and those guys look like idiots. I will get this figure.

To me, Senator Palpatine's subtle sinister is perfect for a Sith Lord. Darth Maul is too extravagant. I like Maul just fine; I tolerate his design. But I won't go so far as to spend money on him.

Qcjoe 06-02-2013 12:28 PM

Ive got my preorder in as well. I cant wait to see what else will come out. I would love to see some small vehicles come out.

Phantomcrow 06-02-2013 01:24 PM

I can't wait until we get a 6 inch Han Solo. Then I can have ML Deadpool and Han be "Smugglers Across the Galaxy" until they run into DC Classics LOBO and mayhem ensues :-P

MeLikeJinx 06-03-2013 12:49 AM

Darth Maul's knee joint looks kinda low... and big. LOL. I wonder how popular these are gonna be though. I remember I thought the Star Wars Unleashed figs were gonna be super popular, especially the Vadar and Darth Maul ones since they looked so cool... both those ended up being not so popular I think.

Maverick 06-03-2013 01:48 PM

I'm sure these will be plenty popular. Lot of star wars fans and lots of people who only collect 6 inch figures.

Batman 06-03-2013 04:56 PM

I think I need to see in hand pictures before I collect this line. Jedi Luke is one of the 6 inch figures I would want the most.

Star Wars Black Series 3.75-Inch Figures Carded - The Toyark - News

DESTRO 06-04-2013 07:28 AM

Star Wars Black Series 3 75 Inch Carded Darth Vader....PURCHASED! Just for the hand deflection alone.

ludovicotek 06-04-2013 08:16 AM

I'm afraid that these 6" figures are going to be on the short end of 6". Just like how the 3.75" Star Wars figures are significantly shorter than MU figures, these will be shorter than Marvel Legends. I hope I'm wrong, but something about those pictures are making me feel that. Especially that Maul.

Starscream99 06-04-2013 09:03 AM

Wow. The articulation sucks on 3.75 figures. I was really hoping it'd be like on that Vintage Card Darth Maul. Gonna have to go with 6 inch figures for the Black Series.

If they are in proper scale to each other they should be just short of 6in. Han and Qui-gon and a few others would be 6in= 6feet tall, but Luke, Leia, and Darth Maul (Ray Park and Mark Hammil are only 5'9") are shorter. Where Vader and Chewey should be closer to 6.5 inches tall. But I know what you mean in the 3 3/4 scale figs. I always pass of regular humans a smaller than HERO characters since heroes are big and strong :-)

This ^. It's the same crappy t-crotches. If Hasbro wants to market these as collector-quality they should have made them collector-quality. Adding some extra accessories and raising the price doesn't do it.

The articulation is on-par with most Vintage Series Star Wars figures, so I'm fine with it. Most of these figures look to primarily use existing tooling, anyway, with some new parts, so it's not surprising. That Maul was a great figure- it would be nice if more figures could integrate ball-jointed hips.

I'm glad I open most of my new figures, as I'm REALLY underwhelmed by this packaging design. It's very boring, looks cheap, and any dark-colored figures will just blend in to it.

dragon 06-04-2013 12:16 PM

great series litel disspointed with some figures of accesroius they come with vader expecterd battle damaged hand, removable mask or extra head with no mask, r2 where are his rockets from episode 2? for price of these figures think they could littel more cloak for darth maul, dual lightsaber detaches to form one big one.

articulation looks same as smaller scale figures
