There will be Guardians of the Galaxy toys

According to this announcement: Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy debuts to licensing crowd » Kidscreen Hasbro is going to create branded GotG toys.

Can you imagine GotG 3.75 figure line and its possibilities? :)

Poison Shadow 06-21-2013 01:07 AM

Hmm. I wonder, though... will the toyline be handled like IM3 or The Wolverine? Iron Man 3 toys can be found just about everywhere, while the 6" Wolverine Legends line (made to coincide with the movie, though the toys are comic based) are online/comic shop exclusives.

Regardless, I'd be willing to bet that they re-release the BAF Rocket Raccoon as a standard figure.

bmorr 06-21-2013 04:05 AM

the possibilities? 5 points of articulation and overpriced like every crummy movie figure. lets hope they do some good 6" figs though.

spade 06-21-2013 06:07 AM

Yeah hard to get excited about this after seeing Iron Man3 and Wolverine toys.

salsa4datass 06-21-2013 07:47 AM

there could be some possibilities since the avengers show is getting 3 3/4 figs with articulation so don't complain until it is official...

Primacron 06-21-2013 09:41 AM

I'd be happy with a good size Groot figure.

spade 06-21-2013 09:42 AM

I know for the GI Joe line 5 point figure with vehicle was an admitted mistake. So maybe they will learn a lesson company wide.

If done right, it could be a great line with lesser known MU characters.

If only there was a point of contact who we could beg not to make wave 1 variations of one character.

Ravenxl7 06-21-2013 10:58 AM

I'm looking forward to the movie and hope the toyline turns out well. I'm not worried about articulation. Thor's sequel's toys still have plenty of articulation to them. One thing that I am worried about are the sculpts themselves. Most look fine, but the Avenger's Black Widow looked pretty bad to me. I'm also worried about the availability of all the main characters. I don't know why, but unlike the Avengers, I feel compelled to get the whole team. There's just something about the way they look as a group.

Depending on who all was available in the scale, I would most likely buy it if they did. That said, I don't see them doing it. Not only a year after it's initial release as a BAF anyways. Though it would be cool if they did.

Even if its a Sideshow statue, if its comic accurate and looks good with my MU, I'll buy it.

As long as its comic Groot and it's big the articulation can be somewhat lacking. If 6" is legends then a decent baf is likely.

ultraman zoffy 06-21-2013 01:18 PM

Thanos BAF. Make it happen, Hasbro... you can even cheat it by reusing some parts from the Terrax BAF since it'd be a good scale for old pruneface. =)

warmachine6 06-21-2013 02:17 PM

Possible Spoiler highlight to read my message
I hope we get a Thanos figure, in his correct height

spade 06-21-2013 03:20 PM

Why is that a spoiler?

Poison Shadow 06-21-2013 05:15 PM

We'll probably see a re-release of the Marvel Legends Drax as well, maybe with an added vest. He's wearing one since Marvel Now right? Haven't really been keeping up.

A Groot BAF is a great idea, but I don't know how likely it is. Iron man Legends had Iron Monger, but Wolverine Legends doesn't seem to have a BAF - and is exclusive to boot.

I hope they go all out for the cosmic comic side! Movie versions of all the guardians and main baddies is a must of course. MU scale too of course!

But I really hope they do stuff like the new Nova(and troop builder corps), Darkhawk(full weapons loadout), Vulcan, Martyr, and more too. Even a Galacta daughter of Galactus figure would be awesome!

Vance Astro, Pip the troll, and many others would rock too. Lots to choose from with cosmic marvel. =D Maybe even a three pack of Kree, Skrull, and whatever third one, and a movie version of alien troop builders three pack with Chitauri, and 2 others.
I'd even settle for a legends Groot if they don't do bigger. Because some legends figures do pair up nice to MU, and he'd definitely be one.

spade 07-08-2013 02:27 PM

confirmed movie characters not toys as yet

The Collector
Nebulla
Ronan the Accuser
