Old Man Logan - packaging problems?

hi guys,

I'm hoping to get your observations and experiences on something that happened to me. I was wondering if it happened to you guys as well.

I broke down and bought an Old man Logan mu figure on ebay after I realized that they weren't going to be sold on hts.

the figure was listed as 'new'. I received the box well packaged and in good time. I opened the shipping box and found the mailer box (the white one) in good shape as well.

I was a little puzzled that each side of the box had 2 strips of scotch tape style tape and it was yellowed too but sealed.

I opened the box and found the fig still in the plastic bubble but it was detached from the card. it looked like the bubble was slit off.

I contacted the seller and he told me that he bought a box of the figs at sdcc and he sold them individually as is without opening any of the boxes. he was good enough to offer to refund the money once I returned the fig.

I took his comments at face value since I believe in giving every one the benefit of the doubt.
I decided to keep the fig but not write a feedback comment for him.

meanwhile I was still in bidding contention for another old man logan on ebay. I lost the bid but the seller got back to me offering me another chance at it at the price I had originally bid on. I bought it.

the fig was marked 'new' and it arrived well packaged as well. the mailer box had the same 4 strips of tape on it. I opened the box and found the figure in the plastic bubble attached to the card but it was slowly falling off the card.

It naturally made me believe the first seller.

of any of you who ordered the old man logan, did you find your product in similar form?

has Hasbro/marvel had these old man logans in storage so long that the glue on the board/bubble dried out?

needless to say, I won't be getting any more old man logans

I had the same issue on eBay. I'm not a MOC guy but I was a little bothered since I've never paid that much for one figure. I feel better after reading your post thanks.

hey kernel,

thanks for the response and the picture.

I was starting to wonder if the universe was against me :)

I paid 50 for mine with some ebay bucks which brough it to 38 which I think was a good price considering. Mine came without any issues though.

What in the world are ebay bucks? Do you mean you just had some credit somehow?

I bought one from a guy on the boards and just a night or 2 ago was looking closely at it. On (only) one side I saw the 2 sets of tape just as you described. One cut open with another set (of the same exact tape) retaping it. I have not opened the box so I have no idea what the condition is inside. I was going to ask the seller about it but I do not feel the need to after reading this post. I'd like an "untampered" one but not sure if there are any like that. I may end up trying to get a good MOC Logan out of the outer box but still carded

Oml

I purchased two OML figures on eBay. I always open the shipper box just to make sure the packing is in good shape. One was tapped like described in the first post here and the other one was MOC. The purchases were from two different sellers. I always buy two of each (one for my oldest son and one for me). My son kept the tapped one because he opens his figures and I kept the MOC one because my collection is MOC.

There eBay bucks that you earn from buying things off of eBay and get redeemed after 3 months. You have to sign up for it, but it's free.

That's interesting. I never got any info about that before. Could have gotten me some free stuff in the past. Oh well.

I attended Sdcc and purchased a couple OML. I opened one and it looks fine. The other is still in the box.

Marvel was selling OML by the case (60) at $20 each to whomever. I would not be surprised if there were a few defects in each case and I don't the resellers would have tampered them as they were readily available.

I did receive an exclusive Dr doom unmasked with a crease in the mail from the subscription offer. Was disappointed, but fortunately I bought another from HTS when they were available.
