Wow that's depressing.

Agreed. However, in some areas, it actually appears that these are selling well. In my area, some of the 2-packs go quickly. I think parents are going for them due to the low price for 2 figures. Thankfully, the Black Series looks to be around for a while for fans and collectors looking for more substance to their figures.

Though, I am happier to say, it looks like the Black Series is selling really well in this area too. There's usually only 1 - 2 figures if any when I pop into stores.

True enough. Finding any of the new figures tends to be an exercise in futility, though around here it's hard to tell if it's an inventory issue (my area has a spotty record in that regard) or if they're actually selling very well.

Lately, Target has been notorious for just neglecting to restock toys. I know a few areas are really bad with Star Wars there as Target lumped the Black into the same SKU as the Vintage Collection and won't restock until all of the Vintage Collection stuff is gone.

Ouch tell me about it, seems like a heck of a contest on which line can look the worst in Hasbro's attempt to go cheap.

I guess on the bright side at least there is some chance of finding some Star Wars Black figures at retail while other Hasbro lines seem stuck with nothing but 5 points of articulation on the pegs.

Not sure how well the cheap figures are doing at other locations but they don't seem to be flying off shelves locally.

Give it a few weeks. The Black series figures are still "new" and so they always tend to sell well at first. The real test will be a couple months from now (Christmas season) and whether or not the retailers triple-down on the first or second wave of figures and thus crowd out all of next year's assortments with the glut and therefore kill the line in its' infancy (this goes for both the 6" and 3.75" line, but particularly the 3.75" line).

I'll put it this way: I'm very leery of my chances of ever finding Mara Jade or Darth Plagueis at retail (pretty much the only 3.75" Black series figures I want so far).

Wow if they weren't absolute crap I'd actually pick up the Obi-Wan/Darth Maul pack.

That's odd, the targets in my area are the stores where you have the best luck in finding the 6" black figures.. I don't see very many of them anywhere else.. It's weird how different area stores can be so different.

Hasbro is remaking characters (that were done better in the past) and using production cost as an excuse to make them crappy. I hated the idea at first because I have seen the effect on a few Marvel lines, but then I thought they could be a good throw-back to the vintage Kenner Star Wars line. Still, it would be so easy to make their knees bend so at least Han could sit down to shoot Greedo.
That picture of C3PO almost made me look twice. I would buy a shiny droid with limited articulated but not that dull finish imitator.
I guess this Darth Maul set is based on him getting new legs in Clone Wars . Too bad Clone Wars fans cannot predict whether or not a "normal" fully articulated version will be made some day later.
