Classics Krang, Shredder, Splinter And Party Van? Technodrome?!
|
This is all fantastic news - except for the kibosh being put on the deluxe versions of the villains. I'm seriously getting tired of retail stores getting in the way of good stuff getting produced.
The only Classics figures I plan to buy are the ones associated with the movies, but if they do in fact release a large Krang android I won't be able to resist it. Also, I've been wondering all along if they planned a toyline around the new movie... I'm honestly pretty surprised that it's happening, because they're already putting out toys on several different iterations of the Turtles. A person could almost be spoiled by that kind of offered variety! |
That is really interesting news actually. I'm curious though about the technodrome. The mentioned the sewer playset first, so would it be the technodrome from the Nick TMNT or a revision for the classics line?
If it's for the classics line, then I just predicted the future, as I started a thread earlier about older toys I'd like to see get updated, and technodrome was right there. |
I hope they keep coming with the Classics stuff. I've liked everything released and seen so far. But please, please give us a Splinter and Shredder (cartoon or movie versions) before this line outstays its welcome.

It's not random - it's an actual interview he had with a rep from Playmates:
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/collect...power-con-2013 As for the actual topic of this thread: excellent news, all around. I suppose I better start setting aside some money to keep up with all the good stuff coming out for TMNT as well. |

"The Collector Connection Episode 2: Power-Con 2013 Special with Hosts Sean Long, Pixel Dan, and ShartimusPrime featuring JayC of ToyNewsI.com. Our Guests include Scott Neitlich from Mattel and Pat Linden from Playmates Toys." Strange how none of that was mentioned in the Toy Ark report. Giving the podcast a listen now though. |

Shin Densetsu's news post is no different than any news post we've done here, or any of our sister sites. |
–1990 Turtles HAVE been sculpted, and are in Hong Kong being tooled right now. Due for release next July/August in time for the new movie. They will also have the same amount of articulation as the current Classics (including fingers).
So does this mean the first wave will see a re-release to include figures that look closer to these designs? http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_Pg9Hh8gTk.../s320/8vn9.jpg |

It's one thing for a guy on a message board to post something on a forum which 9 times out of 10 is conjecture or misunderstanding and another for a toy news website to report that as factual news without doing any kind of verification or at the very least going to the original source of the information, don't you think? |

And I don't have anything else to say on the matter. You've said your peace and I've said mine. Let's get this back to the actual topic of the thread. |

Whoa, I didn't mean to cause all of this kerfuffle!
No, I am not the one that interviewed Playmates. All credit goes to Shartimus Prime, Pixel Dan, and Sean Long. I merely listened to the podcast, and gleaned the bits that I found interesting ad mist all over the yakkity yakking between the hosts. I don't claim credit. Just posted news I heard with fellow Turtles enthusiasts. |
I find it hard to believe classics is doing so well, not for lack of sales but product availibility, never seen these at retail at all.
I guess they are making enough good money from online retailers. You know the classics turtles pretty much do look like that image you posted unless I missed soemthing since the original soft headed turtle figures when I was little, the classics are the closest we have seen to the old art/cartoon. I love Rocksteady and Bebop but the no ankle thing is very dissapointing for the price, will be all over the normal sized ones that I guess are goign to be cartoon styled at least they will only be $8.88. I hope the movie stuff that comes out is articulated as the first wave of the nick turtles that came out hopefully they won't be cool designs then look liek the Iron Man 3 figures. |
